East L.A. Vikings

To me it will be like the North Stars when they left. I have not been to a wild game and have only watched maybe 3 games. I watched almost all Stars games and went to many many games. It would not be the same. In fact it would be so bad I might have to root for the ............. Lions.

I can't see them leaving for a couple of reasons...

#1. There is WAY too much football madness here. They are going to need a new stadium, but I think the Wilf's understand how good of a business it is to own in MN....we don't have near the distractions as LA

#2. I don't think the NFL wants to see this happen. They too understand how good of a market it is and how there are much better options to move to LA...Jacksonville is one great example

Would I root for them.... if they still had AP, were pretty good AND our coach wasn't Chilli.... MAYBE

They won't go unless the Wilf's sell the team. The LA stadium and surrounding area will be privately funded.Wilf won't go for that.....no revenue for them.

Does anyone really believe much that Reusse says???

Well... I don't. I think it is sad that in the Minnesota market everyone things Sid and Reusse have the answers... they may have had their day, I don't know.... but they aren't worth listening to right now in my opinion.

As a season ticket holder for over a decade it finally hit me that it was like being held hostage by these guys. I gave the tickets up 5 years ago and will never support any pro sports team agian until common cents reigns again. I like watching and cheering but I refuse to buy any merchandise or support the sponsers. The time and resources spent on just wrangling over this is incredible. the one good thing is that a least if a stadium gets built you will be able to see it, touch it and use it as opposed to all the other intangables the government spends your hard earned money on. You can say look there it is we built that instead of looking for higher test scores that mean nothing on some peice of paper in the hands of some NEA member.

Maybe I just got stung too hard by the stars's move when that was Norms wife's embaarassment due to his bad behavior we lost our team.

don't hold us hostage, just leave and save us the agony.

I remember watching a report last year on ESPN that said the Vikings with a new stadium are worth 800 million dollars. Move that stadium to LA, tack on at least 100 million more. Ziggy is not a minnesotan, he is a business owner. Right now the vikes are worth what, 300-400 million, maybe? Big business people....I do not want my tax money supporting another privately owned team to build a stadium......Gophers stadium? I didn't mind that, I supported that.

Vikings are gone gone gone

Considering that very few pro atheletes have allegience to the city/state they play for (they will normaly go where they will get more money) Kent Hrbek is one exception.

I say we package the Twins , Wolves, Wild and Vikes and get rid of all pro sports in this state. but thats just me !!!

You know the cardinals did this a few years a go when the left st louis and came to phoenix. they first named the team the phoenix cardinals then changed it to az as the support is state wide not just in phx. The coyotes are facing problems with them trying to sell and move to canada however the courts said no. I think it is going to be a problem where you have all 4 types of teams and as one stated there is no allegiance to the city. There has been much talk from people on blogs and forums that when the city of tempe would not build the new stadium that all the teams move out and quit taxing the citizens. Between pro ball, cactus league spring training and college, we have more stadiums and arenas than one can imagine. 3 new training facilities opened last spring, but in this economy who can afford to go to the games? Time for the citizens to stand up and say we are done buying your buildings etc and bring the prices down or we wont go. Heck the state is in such bad shape they are going to sell all of the state owned buildings including the house and capitol to generate revenue. So i have no love loss if they all go, just one less thing to be taxing me for.

Get rid of them and use all money to stock muskies!!!
AMEN! Did you ever think of running for governor?

This whole thing is starting to smell like the Twins "contraction" ploy. I stopped watching the Twins after that, I may soon do the same with the Vikings.

I just read in the paper that the Vikings are worth around $830 million. The Wilfs paid $600 million just a few years ago. That's quite a return in just a couple of years.

Oh my god! I can't believe you wrote that. By all means, build a temple to the "sports gods", but nothing for our future, or our children's future.
