Interesting trailcam pics

I was home with my little boy yesterday- he's sick. He was feeling a little better by mid-morning, but not well enough to go back to daycare. I asked if he wanted to go check out the "deer pictures" and he said "you bet". An hour later we were at my mother-in-law's place about 45 miles NE of Fargo. We went in and looked at the tree- no trailcam. I was immediately steaming mad- I figured somebody came and took it. A few minutes later we saw the camera on the ground about 15 feet from the tree. The camera was broken and pretty beat up, but I dug out the SD card and popped it in my digital camera to look at. Here are the last few pics:

This was a little buck that passed in front of the camera.

He exited the scene at 8:46.

This was the next pic, 11 minutes later.

Next, the trailcam was on the ground and took this pic.

This was the last pic the camera took- the bear apparently standing over the top of the cam and stomping the life out of it.

This might not be a big deal to those in bear country, but the nearest town to this camera is Ada, MN- hardly bear country. This past June there was a bear sighted there and it was really big news. Nobody from around there had ever remembered seeing a bear locally. I'd guess this is the same bear, since it's such a rare occurance to see them there- who knows...

I thought you might enjoy the pics.

Yep for whatever reason bears hate trail cameras. I have had several attacks over the years but they never did an real damage. I've heard they try and get at the film because of the smell but they still came after my digital cam too.

Scoot, where do you hunt by Ada? I hunt just south of there east of Lees seed farm. We saw a bear last year out deer hunting too. Surprised the living daylights out of me sitting up in my stand, and for it to be out yet, I figured they would have been hibernating already. My father inlaw told me they had seen one when they were harvesting, and figured it must have been the same one.

Alex, I hunt out kind of near the airport. I'm not sure where Lee's is- I'll keep my eyes open for it though.

Slayer, I saw the pic in the newspaper- wasn't that a lone bear? Where there more bears, but not in the pic? Or... is my memory failing me.

It's funny- I have no problem believing there are bears around Twin Valley. In Ada seems really odd though. However, there's not much realestate between the two towns, so I'm not sure why I think that way. The locals seem pretty puzzled by it though, so it's not just me.

I hunt east of ada in the gary area. I had a chance at a big bear this year. Had several different ones hitting. Not sure if you are east or west of ada, but there are plenty of them east of ada. Looks like some similar stuff to what I hunt. Glad he didn't get your camera, I was lucky and with the bears I had none decided to try mine out for lunch. Good luck. You been bowhunting at all???

It's east of Ada, but only by a couple miles. I've been bowhunting a little there, but mostly I've been doing it with my nephews and/or my four year old son. It's been fun, but I'm starting to get serious about wanting to get an arrow flung, so I won't be bringing my son (getting pretty cold for him) and I won't be going bowless with my nephews anymore.

This is my first year trying out a trailcam- it sure has been fun!

Lee's is south of Borup actually, on the east side of hwy 9. We also have an abandoned old farm place north of Borup about 2 miles. I do know the area about where you hunt, are you hunting near the river bottom?

Well now I know my wife isn't crazy! She saw a bear about 4 miles SW of Ulen coming home from work at the end of august and said it was huge standing right on the side of the road! Those are some cool pics, just to bad the camera got destroyed!
