zepman
Rumor has it the vikings already have shown interest in a QB in this upcoming draft. The QB from Cinnci, Pike, possibly with the 30th pick? Of course thats for a few years down the road. So ya, lets hope Favre comes back because Jackson is not the man, and he isnt the link between now and the future QB of this franchise. If it's a rumor right now, that's probably all it is...way too early for a team to start leaking who they are "looking" at...especially a first round q-back.I do hope they take one(qb) early though and from what I've seen Pike is as good as any of them. we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted January 27, 2010 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted January 27, 2010 We need a top prospect DB, DL or o-lineman worse. However, If a top talent drops to us I'm all for the best talent available pick.

We may be interested in Pike but it will never be in the first round. Very late second or early third is most likely. There are only two first round quarterbacks this year. Clausen and Bradford. You won't see the third quarterback go until late in round 2.

icefishingdude
I pulled the plug on Tjack last year when he went 1 for 10 in their playoff game....If this is what we have to look forward too I hope local TV picks up the packers feeds... Jim Uran
I wouldn't switch to being a cheesehead even if the vikes were shipped somewhere.. Whoever the QB may be I'll be rooting for the vikes.
PierBridge
Too bad T-Jack wasn't in the game on the last play.Donavon McNabb would be my choice for a veteran QB other-wise we go with T-Jack or Sage and that looks like Jackson at this point.Go Vikes! Cooter
Finally looked at the last few pages here and I'll agree with the comments on short windows in the NFL - I think this past year was your best shot but you never know. I'd be hoping for one more chance with ol Burt if I was a Queens fan.

With the way BRZ handles the salary cap for the Vikes we are in very good shape every year. If the scouting staff continues to do their job and we draft well we could continue to be a very good team for a long time. The Vikings do have some holes to fill this year. Especially with the injuries to Henderson and Griffin. We do need a long term solution at the quarterback as well.
zepman
Without Favre or (possibly Mcnabb) the window is closed on this group.
koonie
We have a lot of young talent. There may we a down year but I highly doubt you'll see an extended swoon. We have some good young replacements and very guys on the brink of retirement.
LMITOUT
How can they not start Rosenfels if Favre retires? He's clearly the superior QB. Nice touch on his passes, reads the defense, and gets the ball to the receiver's hands (not his feet).

I only caught the bad ones during the first quarter. In his defense he is playing with some fresh blood.
LMITOUT
Chilly was asked about Rosenfels' first-half performance and he just blew the question off. He knows the T-Jack experiment failed but can't, or won't, admit it.

Shack
Well, I will say with only (12?) a dozen starts under his belt, with only being in the league 10 years & 4 (or 5?) NFL teams, he seemed to pull it off in a first game preseason. Not an easy game to play even a quarter in. Just funny it takes a coach like Chilly to "find" a starter QB like Sage. You would think he would have been found and starting 8 years ago? Limit you may be right in Sage as the 2010 starter. That, or we just saw the most expense infomercial in broadcasting history. LMITOUT
Doesn't bother me, but it really should Vikings' fans. Another 50 years of ineptitude I guess.

harvey lee
H-Birthday Josh.I would trade T-Jack.But Chilly has his blinders on and who knows what he will do. The golden boy T-Junk will be kept and SR may go. Heck, maybe Chilly should be the one to go but they may not get anything for him.Too bad for the Vikes. PurpleFloyd
The coaches have treated Jackson like he was a HOF of Manning's status during every pre season so far instead of making him take the reps to give him the experience he needs under center. This year looks no different in that regard so if we end up going into the season with him under center and he is not ready to play at a high level there will be one person to look to. To me there is no reason not to play at least the first quarter and get some decent reps with the first unit. If there is no more time needed than that they should just forget about the preseason and add 2 more games to the regular season and be done with it.Sage looked good now that he was given time to work the rust off and get into a groove. I agree they have the wrong one on the trading block.
zepman
I was thinking the exact same thing last night when they took TJack out so early...doesn't make sense. He needs all the reps they can dish out!!
FISHINGURU
I'd guess Sage will start the next game like the starter just doing a few reps then Junkson will come in and see what kind of groove he can get into, it would only be fair.I'd rather have Webb then Junkson, he looks way more poised then Junkson in his first 2 minutes as a pro then Junkson does after a handful of years. harvey lee
As well as Sage played, they will be forced to let him play again. The bigger question maybe, when Farve comes back, which of the 4 QB's will go?That will be a tough call.
