I'd rather be fishing than waiting for Ice to form. Still plenty of open water season left with little traffic on lakes, fat fish...this is one of my favorite times of year. Once the lakes get some skim I'll start preparing for Ice season. Here's to a nice fall!

I would have to agree with jim buck. The fall bite is jsut getting started and the eyes are starting to stack up. Ice or open water it doen't matter as long as the fish are biting.

I agree!!! I've tried the last few years to get ice fishing to the top when it deserved to be, but they are reluctant to do it!! But, come march when some of the best ice fishing is to come, open water goes to the top!! if you take the numbers through out the year, the numbers in ice fishing would greatly outnumber open water!! we are a hardcore bunch and we love our sport like no other!! no matter where it is, it's the first forum I visit all year round!
