zamboni
T-junk is just bad, Chilly will lose his job because he backs his draft choice and can't admit he made a bad move. They both have to go, This team will stop playing and it's fans will stop comming by the 4th loss in 6 games with T-junk at the helm. Fire Chilly! If T-junk gets cut he would not get picked up by any other team. Great post. There was a reason he went to a Div II school. I know he started at a Div I and transfered, but he and everyone else knew he didn't have the talent to play at Div I level, let alone the NFL. Top 5 worst pick all time by the Vikes, and I still can't believe they think he has potential. Or I should say Childress does.
analyzer
Terrible analogy but...T-Jack would start right now on every major college football team except for maybe a half dozen at most. I understand your point or concerns about T-Jack but thats just crazy to say that.Bryon Leftwich LMAO!.. Ok, I concede, Leftwich was a stretch...We'll have to agree to disagree on how many college teams TJac starts for.

zamboni
OK analyzer- top 10. Fact of the matter is they more than likely could have waited another round or even two. Chilly thought he was gonna be gone by then, and pulled the trigger.
Sandmannd
With all do respect Rick, you are drinking the purple cool-aid. Tarvaris wouldn't start for any top 20 college football team. They have to dumb down the offense for him, and he will never win a football game for you.The vikes will NOT win 10 of Tarvaris' starts. The opponents will not respect his ability, and will load up to stop the run, and TJAc is not capable of consistently burning man coverage. He looks good occasionally, but he's terribly inconsistent.I wouldn't want to start him or Vince Young, they're nearly even in my eye. They rely on their feet way too much to survive and NFL season. I'd honestly rather have byron leftwich. And whoever is joking about Jeff George, I'd take him too. Well said, I agree with you 100%. Well I don't know about the Jeff George thing though. OIF_Veteran_21B
The Herschel Walker trade was one of the best the Vikings ever made. Too bad they didn't know how to utilize a player like Walker.
analyzer
Well, he wasn't taken until 64, and teams frequently miss on those picks. But I agree, we spent too much on him, and it could've waited. And it's one thing to take a flyer on an unknown div II QB, but another to hang your franchise hopes on it.Devin Hester was taken between our Ryan Cook pick, and Tarvaris Jackson.Brandon Marshall didn't go until 119Micheal Robinson, the big stud QB from Penn st, who may never pan out any better than Tjac or Vince Young, but is comparable, went 100, and Brad Smith from Missouri (also same mold) went 103, so I wholeheartedly agree, we could've easily have waited until then. And personally, i'd have rather taken either of the latter two, as at least they played against Big 10 and Big 12 competitiion (not that the big 12 can play a lick of defense). echotrail
I saw this topic on ESPN in the clubhouse at the golf course today. They were saying something about unnamed Viking players believing Favre would be in the lineup by the 3rd preseason game. Thought it was over.....? toughguy
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? NO!!! IT'S OVER WHEN FAVRE DECIDES IT IS!! NOW.......WHO'S WITH ME? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! But you can't hold the whole NFL team responsible for the behavior of a few, sick twisted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the whole NFL system? And if the whole NFL system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of all sports in general? I put it to you, LMIT - isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can say whatever you want to about the Vikings, but we're not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America. Gentlemen!
