Badger
I am angry, though, that the Drama Queen From Kiln put the Vikings and their fans through three months of this horsecrap, and undermined the position of both potential Viking QBs in the process. analyzer
1. I think there is fair chance Favre Joins the team 3 weeks into the preseason.2. Why the fck do the Vikings need to console Tjac and Sage, they're grown men. No one is worried about Berrian, Wade, and co, because we went after TJ Howsyourmomma. Why is the media not concerned about their feelings? I'm sure TJac and Sage are relieved favre isn't coming, and are excited to have a better shot at playing. Tjac wouldn't start for any top 20 college team, he has to thank his lucky stars he's on an NFL roster, not be upset they were pursuing someone better.3. IF Baltimore can win a SB with T dilfer, and Tbay can win with Brad icantthrow20yards Johnson, then the vikes theoretically can win with a stiff at QB. Need I remind you that Baltimore won 5 consecutive games in the middle of that season without scoring an offensive td!! Having said that, TJac will NEVER win a superbowl, he is a Kordell Stewart clone.4. I absolutely agree that vick is not the answer. The vikings need a QB that keeps the defense honest. If your QB isn't considered a threat to burn them when they blitz, they'll load the box to stop AP, play man outside and say go ahead and beat us. I'd honestly rather have Tyler Thigpen back there.5. The best move IMO, would've been to lure Shanahan here, and with his relationshp with cutler, we could've perhaps gotten a package deal. Hell, maybe we could've ended up with Shanahan, Cutler, and Marshall... Coulda gave Denver, our QB's, Chester Taylor, Chili, and a couple a draft picks and Ricki Rubio.. Don't get me wrong, I love chester Taylor, but you have to give up something.

KMR85
I also agree. If we just had someone who was smart behind center, plus a little better right side of the O Line. That right side was the cause of a lot of problems last year.

analyzer
Good take analyzer; point five though got alittle fantasy-land though . I know, I just like shanahan. As much as I hate the way he shuffles running backs, in all other aspects I like him as a coach and drafter. I think he's pretty sharp, and ranks in my top 5 for coaches. analyzer
I don't think it's unreasonable to have brought in Shanahan, and he does have a very good relationship with Cutler, so that may have drawn him here. But Chicago paid a pretty hefty price for him. Cutler and Marshall would be out of the question, for the same reason Chicago can't get them both: there's just not enough picks on any team to get them both. It'd have to be herschel walker like.I think with the buy-out shanahan got, he'd be foolish to work somewhere this year. He'll sit out a year or two, enjoy his 7 million, and re-emerge later. Dallas, NYG, SF, something of that sort. Hell, the Charger job will probably open up, and shanahan can stick it to Denver twice a year. Slowhand
Yea....he got to stick it to Al Davis twice a year. On Shanahan or any other coach for that matter Mr. Peterson would be a strong incentive to call Minnesota home for 6/7 years.
Slowhand
Shanahan also isnt allergic to saddling up one main horse and riding them; he ran the legs off T. Davis for acouple seasons.
solbes
Paired with that pulling line scheme, T.Davis was THE stud among studs. He still sets the bar for being the diamond in the rough of NFL draftees. Having John Elway as your QB kind of helps the running scheme as well, and vice versa. Along with some improved right o line performance, we could have this with a QB that can zip passes under the 3 man deep coverage. Three guys on the team who sadly do not fit the bill. analyzer
It surprises me the vikes didn't try to grab someone like Braum. I'd take the packers back up over our starters. Or maybe even that Hawaii kid washington has.I just don't understand a new coach like childress, hanging his entire career on TJac. He couldn't even play for Arkansas. It's very rare to see a running back put up great numbers with no QB. Barry Sanders comes to mind, and AP... maybe Walter Peyton too.Robert Smiths numbers spiked when Randy Moss added a deep threat.Maybe Percy Harvin will help.
