Lake Mary. Hoping to maybe get out for an hour or two but not sure there will be time and not bringing boat so will have to use pontoon if I want to get out. 250' dock sounds like an all day deal...

I know the word this week! While I may or may not target bass this weekend, I definitely will be throwing some big baits. 23" is a definite possibility.

I'm glad our 40' dock does the trick, as pulling that up the bank can be a chore. Luckily it can be removed without going in the water, so we leave in until the last minute.

Maybe a Catfish guy might have to throw up a 23 this weekend wink

Yep, that's right. I might break out my Bass gear.

You guys in the shiny boats, look out for flying 4ozers and scattering stinkbait grin

Oh well, gotta do it. Will be nice to get out of town none the less. I hope I can get out for a couple hours at least. Not sure if Mary is a great bass lake or not.

Our club has fished Mary a few times and we catch alot of bass, but there are alot of seven to eight pound bags weighed in. There has to be some bigger fish in there, but we really haven't found them.

A lot of shoreline weeds from what I've seen. Probably just going to grab a blade and buzzbait and go.

Based on the wind in the forecast, I might skip the bigger muskie waters and hit a couple smaller bass lakes close by home, they have been empty!

"MEA Yeah!" it is...... I was corrected in another post that it's now called Ed MN, so I'll write both out!

Caught a fat, fat, fat 21"er tonight that had to push 7lbs. Out by myself and no camera. My bet is someone will catch that 23"er this weekend. Good luck to all---.

Me and my buddy had one of those weekends people only dream of. Caught a ton of 18-19" fish. here are some pics. Nothing that hit 20", but we caught around 15 fish that were right at about 19"

this was the first of 5 doubles in a row. Every fish was between 18 3/4" and 19 1/2". I figure the school had about 70 smallies in it and most were right in this size range. I did however see some chasing hooked fish that were over 20".

    • Just said he's been down a long time.....hours. Guess it's a dead rescue. Every friggin' year...it ought to be MANDATORY that you carry and use a spud when venturing out on the ice...or wear one of the ice fishing suit PFD's.
    • academic research.  Maybe some day, but for now I would say walleye in stores and restaurants comes from netting in Canada.   Or is zander from Europe...
    • Have a friend that does this....   http://aquaculturenorthamerica.com/Finfish/fresh-water-fish/profitable-commercial-production-for-walleye-and-saugeye/
    • There's a live rescue going on in Wis Como Lake I think it was right now for a guy that went through but it doesn't look good as they just sent the divers down.   WISN 12 NEWS
    • Ho Ho....   or       Use the fake news thing as a way to censor speech not acceptable to the left.  Yah sure.
    • Pen raised walleye?   Sounds like fake news.   Lots of Canadian walleye but I think it is netted from wild in places like Lake Winnipeg or Red Lake and so on.   Must be Putin trying to discredit the Canadian Walleye providers.
    • Quick question. On the striker models they have a setting called the A-scope. It basically widens the right hand part of the screen where it starts so that it works kinda like a showdown at the beginning of the graph which I like on the ice.  Can you check and see if that unit has that?
    • 5 x 5 will be nor problem for one guy and gear.  I speared out of a two man flip over otter sled for several years and had not problem.  Use to spear out of a 4 x 6 permanent and that is less sq foot than the 5 x 5 hub.  It is nice to have a large hole and yes it lets in more light in those low light conditions but I always used a 3 x 2 spear hole and never had any issues.  It worked, could it be better?  Of course but you just have to figure out what is right for you.  Get a 5 x 5 foot piece of cardboard draw out your hole on it, set up your chair and put all your gear on it and then sit down.  This is probably the closest way to experiencing it prior to doing so...... Good Luck
    • I've seen walleye at grocery stores in the cities for a buck or two more than king crab.   Yeesh.
