I went looking for some boat accesses to the Crow River and decided to wet a line for a little while. I only had crawlers along and that was good enough to get some action from shore.

Wife was a real trooper coming out fishing in 42 degrees the other mornin and she landed her biggest fish ever. This channel cat was caught bottom fishing the Mississippi with chicken liver, from a boat.

Kudos on the wife getting out in the cold and her big fish.

However, i kinda have a feeling shes not too fond of holding the fish. lol

yeah...not so thrilled , she is still a girl....I tried to get her to hold it under the belly and tail for the pic but she was freaked out because it was still alive. She was all ear-to-ear smiles tho reeling this pig in. Just glad somebody would get out & fish with me, while the fishing is good, Good times !!

here are a few I got up on the red river on tuesday.

Nothing under 27 inches that night. landed 56 fish in 6 hours. heaviest was 17.5 lbs

this year up there has been a exceptional year. a normal year is less fish then that per night(normally 15 is a good night). this weather and early warming mixed things up for the good. let's put it this way we had a quad in the boat in the fist 6 minutes the lines were out. that's not normal even for up there.
