We really were not able to establish a consistent pattern so they came on a varity of stuff, tubes,senkos,cranks and jig worm. We caught some largies too. Probably about 15-18 fish total in about 7 hours so I would not say they were going good but enough to keep it interesting and fun.

I am going to have to disagree.

Good to see a kid catching fish. Nice to see a smile.

But... we should teach not to use lips as a lever to hold fish horizontal. An excerpt be the very well known and reputable Ralph Manns: "By using jaws as levers to rotate hanging bass away from vertical to a "more natural" horizontal position with one hand; TV anglers, outdoor writers, and average fishermen have unnecessarily strained jaw tissues. Tissue damage occurs long before bones break. It may take 13 or more pounds to break a bass jaw completely, but strain occurs anytime the jaw is distorted beyond the full-open position naturally used by bass. We don't need to carelessly give every released bass a "jaw ache."

I know, everytime I get on the 'Bass' forum and do some reading, someone has to chime in and start some kind of argument or debate. Usually when it's not really needed. The dock fishing topic is getting out of hand, I quit looking at it. Ha.

I agree with both sides as well. you don't want to ruin a kids fun but at the same time a little instruction might have been in order. Not anything to get worked up about.
