Sandmannd
Is it T-Jack or is it Chilly? Both, bad coaching with a QB you can't open the playbook for. They make each other stink.
OLY
I love all the brilliant football minds on this site. Peyton Manning would have had a bad game yesterday with our line play and gameplan. There is not a QB in this league that would have looked good under the circumstances yesterday. If anyone is to blame it is chilly and his horrible staff, specifically the o-line and special teams coaches.
Sandmannd
I really don't get the love affair with Junkson. Give me a break, comparing him to manning now?? Pretty sure we woud have won that with him. There were a lot of plays where he had time to pass and it was either an ankle biter or helium bomb. OLY
You must really like reading your own words because you constantly post the same things over and over again in every thread. greebs
I'd be interested in seeing stats on how many passes tjack has completed where he's actually thrown the ball 15 or more yards. You can't just look at stats showing 15 + yard completions though because that includes the yards after the catch. I just can't recall hardly any plays where he's had to throw the ball downfield and it was a good pass. It's typically either out of bounds, long by 5 - 10 yards or it's way short and comes down like a punt where the wr and defender both have about equal chance of catching it. I don't know if those stats exist but would be interested in seeing them. During his run of decent play prior to this week, he has not needed to make that pass very often and think his stats benefited from it. Dave S
One of the best points I heard after the game was why did the Eagles receivers have no problems getting open and Vikes receivers couldn't shake a flee off their arse? That leads me to believe the targets weren't there for Jackson to throw to. Not once did I read a post about the equipment failures going on with the Vikes. I saw 3 different times where Jackson was pointing to his helmet that he WASN'T GETTING THE PLAYS because the headsets weren't working right. At first I thought it was a fluke, but then Leber was wearing the mic for the defense and he had the same problem. Overall, Jackson made some bad plays, but he wasn't the only problem on the field. The O-line stunk, Peterson was ineffective with the exception of his first TD carry, our receivers couldn't find an open field and we're missing key players on defense. IMO, the Vikes played the first half as well as they did by spreading the wealth amongst the players. Taylor was gaining some good yardage, Jackson was throwing to all the receivers. Even the K-Sausage had some good yards in the first half. The reason the Vikes imploded in the second half was the play calling. Who's to blame for that? I blame Sandmannd
koonie
I think the recievers were open the ball just wasn't delivered on time. Not always though. We don't have the greatest wr's by any means.
FISHINGURU
i was thinking its pretty hard for peterson to be effective with his 2 carries in the 4th quarter....i guess who needs to run the ball in a tight game with a superstar when you can just dominate with our air attack! I blame Sandmannd Yep, that was on me. I'll take it if it shuts the love fest for T-Junk down. Maybe he can get with T-Hud and make a rap album in the off season. They've done that all year. Why is your best player not touching the ball in the second half? T-Junk might have had a better second half if the run would have opened the game for him. I do blame Chillipepper more that the QB, but he still is not the QB to lead a team long term.
we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted January 6, 2009 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted January 6, 2009 Sandmannd, Admit it, you are definitely a Packer fan. CodyDawg
Sandmannd,You are right on with your analysis. If others dont agree with you, it is because they have purple colored glasses on, drank the purple Kool-Aid, or have no football savvy whatsoever. Are you kidding me saying Peyton wouldnt have won that game? Ohmygosh. I dont even know where to start. Kyle Orton would have prolly won that game for us. When a team blitzes, they sacrafice coverage for pressure on the qb. It is the QBs job to make them pay for blitzing. That is why every team doesnt blitz on every play. If they did, the decent and above QBs would make them pay. They get away with it by disguising blitzes and coverages. It takes the QBs that extra split second to recognize the blitz, another split second to recognize the coverage and by then the pressure gets there. That is the theory. What the offense and QB are supposed to do is hit the hot read. Many times, this would be Randy Moss going deep with 1 on 1 coverage. Or anyone's #1 WR. Now since we dont have that, we arent doing our QBs any favors, but the premise remains the same. The point is, Tarvaris is incapable of even getting the ball to the right place under these circumstances.
Sandmannd
I agree with you CodyDawg. As for Rick, I can take all the ribbin' you can hand out my friend. Hammer Handle
Some of the passes late in the game where not bad...they were horrible.Until we can find some type of solution where we can win when a team only watches for the run or we need to come back from behind...we are in trouble.T-Jack has had some good games, but his bad games outnumber the good. we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted January 6, 2009 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted January 6, 2009 I do like cheese curds though It's just one step from name calling (not nick naming) and cheese curds to admitting you are a Packer fan. Come on...out of the closet with ya Sandmannd Just for clarity I'm not sold that T-Jack will take us to the promised land but I think we need a quality right tackle more than we need to draft another QB. A nice upgrade at QB would be nice if available and Matt Cassel is NOT that upgrade.
walleyes12
who are some of the available qbs in free agency?
Wadinator
Warner, Cassel, Garcia, Boller, Grossman, Batch, Losman, Collins, Ramsey. Not much to choose from. Warner, Cassel, and Collins will likely be staying with their current teams. That's leaves only one serviceable guy... Garcia. How many other teams will be pursuing Garcia? How much are we willing to give for him? Do we even really want him here?To me it looks very likely that TJ will be our QB again next year. we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted January 6, 2009 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted January 6, 2009 We should have taken Garcia two years ago. But Chilly said Noooooooo. We could be on our way to the SB right now.I doubt it but maybe McNabb frees up. Let's not forget Kitna, D Anderson and possibly Rosenfels will likely be on the market via trade too.
