Sandmannd
So who is eating crow after a game that mattered? T-Junk was horrible. Wasn't his rating below 50? Funny, haven't seen anyone coming out of the woodwork to stick up for him now. The coaches for sure didn't help his cause but he did nothing on his own either. fishin58
Great analysis....wait it was 16-14 in the fourth quarter with 6 minutes left???? Playing against 2 pro-bowlers in the secondary, Aikmen even said this was one of the best secondary's in football. The kid wasn't great but neither was the play calling. Sid Rice was the biggest reason for the int...Snausage would have been quicker coming out og the break... Asante read that play like a book. There is a reason he has 4 postseason picks to the house. Most of you arrived at "who cares" 3 months ago as far as the Vikes were concerned. Now you climb on your horse and cast some more stones....hope you enjoyed playoff football because we will be back there again with a more poised Tarvaris Jackson. pike doctor
Keep dreaming!!!And if Troy Aikmen says it then it must be true. Gimme a break. T-donk is awful. He probably doesnt have the intelligence to tie his own shoes.
Sandmannd
I agree with Pike, you can find every excuse in the book for him if you want but I saw the same old T-Junk and his Helium Bombs. As far as tying his own shoes, well I did see a trainer tie them for him.
fishin58
Berrian ran the one deep route and the corner was step for step with him and the Safety was also in the picture. That tells me right there that any deep route we ran it was well protected. The thing that killed me yesterday was when T should have took off and picked up a first down with his legs. Oh but wait you NFL gurus do not want your QB to run. Thats right....
DTro
hope you enjoyed playoff football because we will be back there again with a more poised Tarvaris Jackson. I thought only Packers fans drank that paint thinner.
CodyDawg
Absolutely, positively awful QB play by T-Jack. Again. How many times does it take? 15-35 for 149 yards and a pick. 40-something QB rating. He would make a good #2 QB if he improves some. But no way do i want him starting. Scott K
T-Jack and Chilly has improved, but I think if the Vikes are going to make the next step forward they need to switch QB and head coach. Maybe T-Jack will be good down the road, so keep him as a back up QB since we have him under contract for 1 more year, but we need a better choice to move this team deep into the playoffs. As far as the coaching goes, I hope Ziggy see's the light and hires a real coach. If it wasnt for our defense keeping us in these games we would have been as bad as the Packers! greebs
I can’t believe anybody is still supporting tjack after this game. Philly really turned up the heat in the second half and exposed him for the mediocre qb that he is. Had the philly d backs made a couple catches of poorly thrown tjack passes, the score could have been much worse. He can dump it with the best of them but he has absolutely no ability to throw a quality pass of more than about 12 yards. I’ve never seen a qb with more hang time on long passes. In a perfect world where the vikes move the chains and don’t ever have offensive penalties and lead by two scores the whole game so all he has to do is hand off and occasionally throw a dump pass, then he could probably fit the bill but that ain’t reality. The qb issue here is very similar to what’s happening with the twins. It comes down to what the goals are of the owners. If their goal is to simply contend for a division title or maybe a wild card, then the current team can likely do that. However, if the goal is to be serious contenders for a super bowl title, then there’s not a qb on the roster who can lead them there and they need to go out and find one who can. The Donk
All I gotta say, is man, do we need a quarterback! This team would be twice as dangerous with someone that can balance out All Day....
Sandmannd
All I know is Mike Shanahan would make AP look awesome and get a good QB.
we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted January 5, 2009 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted January 5, 2009 I think any rookie QB would have floundered against philly with the Vikes offensive line playing like they did and the play calling. APs numbes were horrible as well if you take the 40 yd TD run away. I don't blame AP for that. That being said, the offensive creativity was not good. Also if we had a decent right tackle, a Pro Bowl caliber QB and an imaginative Coach the Vikes would be Super Bowl capable.
fishin58
Here is how some other NFL qb's stacked up against the Eagles pass D the last few weeks. Jackson - 15/35 164 yds & 1 INT Romo - 21/39 183yds & 3 turnovers Campbell - 18/33 144yds & 1 fumble (recovered by offense) Dorsey - 11/28 156yds & 2 INTs (plus a fumble recovered by offense) Eli Manning - 13/27 123yds & 1 TD, no TOs Warner - 21/35 235yds 3 INTs & 3 TDs If it were only that easy Rick, everybody would be doing it!!! Shack
Quote:I can’t believe anybody is still supporting tjack after this game. Why not? He is a rookie second string QB who only played only a hand full of games during the season, was called in late season, got us a NFC North Championship (a nice monkey to have off our backs) and into the play off’s. Sandmannd
He's not a rookie. This is his second or is it his third year. There were two true rookies in the playoffs this weekend and how did they do?

Shack
He's not a rookie. This is his second or is it his third year. There were two true rookies in the playoffs this weekend and how did they do? If one is still under a rookie contract, I would think that classifies him as a rookie? A rookie is a rookie and T-Jack (with as many games he played this season) is still a rookie. fishin58
If they want to get touchy, he was drafted as a raw project Qb, that was set to start after 3 years. Well guess what he got thrown to the fire and after posting a 95.4 QB rating for 2008, he IS on the right track!
pinkfloyd4ever
I'll defend T-Jack some, look at the stats from other QBs against eagles D. A Jim Johnson defense is going to make any QB look bad, add to it a inexperienced one.
Born2Fish
95.4 in what 5 games? I don't think thats very good or very bad. Those numbers are padded too because of a few great games, offset from a few HORRIBLE games(including yesterdays game). And I am kinda gettin sick of hearing jim johnson this jim johnson that. Im pretty sure the eagles got knocked around a bit this season(that jim johnson defense couldnt defeat the bengals). So im not putting this loss on a Jim Johnson defense. Im putting it on poor excuse of a coach and a HORRID performance from our "starting" qb. They had plenty of time to watch film, study that defense a little. Instead they looked horrible against it. Once again poor game management from our coach. Get rid of chilly and put Frazier in there.
CodyDawg
This is the end of Tjacks 3rd year. He has started, what, about 15-18 games? And he has 2, count'em 2, 200 yards games. 200 yards games are not exactly raising the bar very high. 300 yard games? gimme a break, he hasnt been near a 300 yard game. He gets blitzed a little and turns into a deer in the headlights. he makes a horrendous throw that costs us a td. Balanced against what? nothing. he didnt make any "great" plays. he struggled with average plays. I am really confounded by people defending him as if he has shown all this promise. there has been no "promise". Dont tell me the 4 td game against a Arizona team that had already clinched was anything to get excited about. And that game he didnt exactly shred them, what did he have, barely over 200 yards?
