KMR85
few bucks eh...more like $80-160 per ticket or more. i spend my $80-160 elsewhere, like fishing gear and listen to the game on the radio while fishing(kill 2 birds with one stone). otherwise i will pay a REASONABLE ticket price and go to a Twins game. I know a ton of people that would like to go to a game, but with the prices cannot afford it. no they aren't poor, but they are either paying for college or paying it off or starting a family. not everyone can afford a ticket all time. and for the fans that can afford it, a lot of them are the fair weather fans. spear-n-pike
I wonder if Windy has ever been to the big inflatable toilet (the dome) to see a game. Its hard to spend big $$$ to sit in crammed seats and smell urine and vomit or what ever the that smell is for three hours. I’d rather sit out in subzero weather and watch it. rodmaker
Tickets are expensive for sure !!! I love the Purple. I'll be staying home and watching the game on TV. Only 3,100 tickets, left. It will be on for sure!!! Vikes by 3!!!!!!
james_walleye
Well back to the game at hand. I think its a simple deal here. It comes down to the turnover battle, it has all year for the vikings. No team in the metrodome this year has consistently driven 80 yards on that defense. Thats what they need to do is make the eagles drive 80 yards for their scores. If they hand the ball to the eagles at midfield or even a shorter field yet they won't win. And vice versa, our defense has to give our offense a short field a few times. The eagles have been all over the radar as far as how they have played this year. I mean less than 2 weeks ago they got beat by the redskins 10-3. I really don't think they will light up the scoreboard at the dome, but neither will the vikes. I look for a 20-17 type game with a 2nd half key TO or special teams play giving one team the edge. A home run by AP or Berrian would be huge. The vikings obviously have to have the running game going and I think they need to run some early screens to combat the blitz packages they will be shown. Jackson will need to hit his hot routes and the way Jim Johnson disguises his blitzes, it makes it a shaky deal. No doubt Jacksons mobility can be a huge asset in this game. If he can evade a few blitzes some big plays downfield will be available. If they can give Jackson a bit of time a big play to Berrian will be available, but thats a HUGE if. pinkfloyd4ever
I'm a Vikes fan, but I don't see us getting past the Philly D. Think the Vikes open up a lead, 10-3 or similar, only to watch Philly do 24 unanswered to win 27-10, if my math is right
fbluvr27
I used to go to at least a couple of games a year and unless you are in an $80 seat it isnt worth it. For me to take my family its just not even feasible. Living in mankato, we always make a point of going to training camp and my daughters have a blast. I hope the vikings win, but with chili on the sidelines i have my doubts. He WILL try doing something stupid to impress his buddy Reid. Either way, it will be a close game and our clock management sucks. I just pray that it doesnt come down to us needing to score on the final drive because barring a big play we do not have the management to effectively march the ball down the field with time expiring. greebs
my prediction is that there will be a gus frerotte appearance at some point in the game and the vikes will manage to pull out a squeaker victory. tjack is going to see pressure that he's not seen in his action this season and I'm afraid I don't have a lot of confidence in him reacting well to that. IF that were to happen, imagine what that would do to the qb situation for the next game.

Mudcutter
Windy-- first off -- it was not 12F at game time for the hockey game at loserfield,, it was an even 32F. I make my living in the weather,, did you see any players breath???Second off,, if the wild played the red wings in a outdoor rink in Jan in MPLS or let's say, Brainerd,,, it would freakin make the crowd that showed up at loserfield look like a bears playoff party this wk-end. I got news for you Windy-- -20F in Brainerd-- for red wings- wild game,, it be nuts.Overpriced Football is one thing in MN,, but Hockey in MN will beat any state. Don't ever bring up a comparsion to hockey with the Hockey State. Period.I have a funny feeling that a Black Hawks team a few years ago agst the Coyotes at Loserville,, wouldn't have had 42K--but in MN-- it would. take a winter trip to cass sometime and spend some time in bar--- HOCKEY RULES!!!!! CrappiesNCats
all the cheaper tickets are sold out. windy is talking out his rear. he has no idea. right now if you wanted to take an average family (4) to a game it would cost 520 dollars just for seats 10 for parking and at least 10 per at the game. factor in gas and its 600 dollars for 3 hours of entertainment. it has nothing to do with fans or the team. fact of the matter is im not going to the dome...ever for football. even with tickets on the 50 in a close row i have a MUCH better seat watching at home and beers dont cost 7 bucks. you are not better fans for attending a game. it costs 1 percent of an average annual salary to go to a game....if the big mouths like allen and leber would pay 1 percent of their salary they could purchase all remaining tickets and donate them to less fortunate people, or make an announcement and hand them at the door. Windy City Walleye Hunter
Mudcutter, or should I say, Mr. Weatherman. I have only two words to say to you.... Wind Chill! Duh! You see, Mr. Weatherman, there is this little thing called "wind chill" factor that one must take into consideration when sitting outdoors. That is when you have a 10 plus mph wind blowing on you in the "balmy" 32 degree weather. This makes it feel like it is actually 12-12 degrees. I know that you probably don't know much about "wind chill" as your football team plays in a heated 72 degree dome which is why your fans are not affected by the elements, removing one more of the excuses that have been spewing here for not being able to sell out a dinky 60K PLAYOFF game. Give me a call if you ever need any more weather lessons.PS You know I am just busting your chops here Mud, you teed this one up for me. Burnham
ok wind chill is for the most part a bunch of cra.p. a temperature is a temperature, even if it feels colder. i know your just kiddin around but dont even try to imply that you are real fans for showin up in 12 or 32(whatever it was) degree weather, up here in 'sota i guarantee you we have much worse temperatures.and if we didnt have better things to do with our time(fish) i would watch a vikes game in -30 weather. even if we do win this week, which i think we will. we are not going to make it past the second round as well, its the vikes we're talkin about
Windy City Walleye Hunter
Burnham, Look up the word frost bite and hypothermia, dude. You are making yourself look foolish. Both of these are increased in severity as the wind increases, otherwise they would not call it a wind chill factor. Even my buddy Mud knows that!Windy

zepman
Well, I guess the home field advantage reared it's head today. Two underdog (and home) teams advancing to the next round of the playoffs. Sound familiar? Do not underestimate the home field advantage when it comes to the playoffs...this is why the Vikes will pull out a squeaker. Mudcutter
Windy--if you want to get right down to the nuts and bolts--- temperature is the measurement based on the movement of atoms;- felt on by humans on how we percieve that movement. It's measure of energy, and how we perceive the changing amounts of energy. The Temp at Wrigley was not 12F., but 32FThe apparent feel was , according to you 12F. I believe you.But NEWSFLASH-- records for weather are not kept or broken based on wind chill or heat index,,,((they kinda of are)) it's temp,, becasue that's a constant having nothing to do with wind. Sure it probably felt colder than 32F. But 32F was the temp, PERIOD. I feel hotter watching the Vikes get beat by the Eagles-- but it's still 69F inside my 2 room bungalow on the east side of Des Moines. Still sticking with my prediction of the Queens game-- 23-19 Eagles.
