knoppers
so what happened? I don't get the NFL network, even if I did, I was watching the wild beat the best team in the NHL, ya baby!
zamboni
Reesing is a pretty good QB. I am a Jayhawks fan having lived there. He may get drafted, but it will be late rounds, and will probably never catch on anywhere- it will be a shame.
frogtosser
they moved the gopher basketball game so it wouldnt be conflicting with the awesome bowl game
so haaad
Gophers actually played well at times, but the better team was clearly Kansas. They started the game the same way they did against Wisconsin, but Kansas was in another league than the Gophs. Briscoe is a stud and definitely will play on Sundays. That passing attack destroyed the Gophers' secondary. Once again the Gophers couldn't run the ball to help mix things up. Looking towards next year, the offense needs to find another passing threat along with a running game. Brandon Green has a ton of potential. Weber needs to spread the ball around more than just passing it to Decker. Also, they need to improve on the front line on both sides of the ball. It will be interesting to see how this off-season goes for recruiting. Brewster did a great job last year, but it seems like a drop in talent so far this year. Scott M
The closest they ever came was after Jon Hoese's second touchdown, when they stopped Kansas and got the ball back. Then things went haywire. Pass defense was porous. Mangino looks like he's one hickory smoked slice of bacon away from a heart attack. zepman
Gophers had a decent year and this game went the way most people thought. Brewster is going to do a great job bringing in recruits...let's hope he knows what to do with them once they get there. Their young offensive line probably cost them 2-3 games this year. No running game and lot's of pressure on a pretty good Q-back. Lot's of hope for next year with this group.
lawdog
We have a LONG ways to go to even be respectable. We are still only a midlevel Big Ten team and the Big Ten conference is proving to be a superior JOKE in the bowl season with a 1-5 record so far and OSU likely to get beaten like a rented mule by Texas Monday night.Need a lot more athletes on the team before next year. They have improved but they are coming from the cellar of the nation and are only about on the first floor now. I don't think I'll live long enough to ever see us make the penthouse! I can't believe I bought into this team when they were 7-0, what a sucker I must be.
pinkfloyd4ever
Brewster is a better talker than coach IMO. I still laugh when he first got here and there was the rally at Williams Arena and he said something like in 4 years you will see a Rose Bowl, which made my dad say "you can see a Rose Bowl every year, its on New Years Day" LOL. Scott M
They had something at 7-1 and p'd away a couple games they should have won...They still have a long ways to go to get where Brew wants them to be. Saw a feature on him regarding his speaking and motivational style on the Big Ten Short Stories show. Interesting to see, I hope he can deliver on what he promises. He's eating, sleeping, dreaming football and the recruiting has been a huge improvement but the X's and O's are lacking. He's also lost recruits to academic admission troubles and that needs a closer look.I'm giving the guy a chance. Rome isn't built overnight. zepman
Just heard their schedule next year and they will be lucky to make another bowl game (6 wins). Their non-conference games really took a step up.
snoozebutton
Their non-conference games really took a step up. You're kidding right? Syracuse, Air Force, Cal, South Dakota State?
pinkfloyd4ever
better those than Eden Prairie, Hopkins, Wayzata and Grand Rapids
bassNspear
i hope they can come back and have a good season again next year. They need more players comign in that have talent. And do everyone else a favor, get ride of the stupid shot gun offence on every flippen play
so haaad
I would say their non-conference schedule is definitely a step up next year. The Cal game will be VERY tough. Syracuse had a bad year, but they are in the Big East and are much better than the NW Louisiana's of the world. Air Force is decent and also play some quality opponents every year. And South Dakota State has been decent the last few years and beat NDSU this year. These games aren't USC, Notre Dame, Texas and Florida, but they are definitely a step up. zepman
Compared to their non-conference schedule the last ten years...yeah, it's a big step up. Big East, WAC, and Pac 10. They haven't come close to this for as long as I can remeber.
