What irritates you most on ice?

"Turds" Some guy left behind his legacy last year. Not only did I trip over it but I almost got sick when I looked back.

I wish I was kidding but some guy left a big old pile of [PoorWordUsage] laying about the ice, paper and all. I will pick up almost anything....that little gem I left laying there.

Ahhhh where to begin??

[PoorWordUsage] auger, it took me about five minutes to cut one hole, and I felt so bad about forcing the other people to listen to my auger try to start, and then take about a minute to drill through the ice (I realize there's obvious problems with it, but I just plan on selling it for cheap and getting a new one, so I'm not gonna sink any money into it), that I never even drilled my second hole. I was just grateful that no one came over and gave me grief about it.

WTH!!! and of course garbage, why cant people just pick up after themselves? i dont say much not even to the guy with the sled, but ive chased down people and brought them the garbage they left.

Nothing bothers me except the fish not biting. I go fishing to enjoy the outdoors. Yes, people can be a pain and rude and sometimes pigs but one cannot let it bother them. I almost always try to fish away from the crowd so I do not have to deal with the majority of these issues.

It is suppose to be fun.

I agree with Harvey the point of going fishin is to have a stress break and enjoy the outdoors, dont let the morons bother u just do what u think is right ie like pickin up after someone else, stay positive the fishin is better then

since I'm very mobile, I just move if people are the problem. I rarely fish a spost more than an hour anyway.

What irks me is my own inablilty some days to figure out whats going on early. I spend half the day dialing it in and then starting to catch some fish. what size what color how fast how slow how high pound the bottom and so on.

Thank you. Scares the you know what out of you at night in the perm when you see headlights coming right at you and then suddenly jerk to the side when they realize there is something in front of them besides their bottle.

I stopped on the way home at a favorite lake to catch the last half hour of bluegill fishing. I drilled a few holes, then set out with my bucket, vexilar, and rod. I left my jig box on the back bumper of my pickup. Fishing was great, got things packed up, and headed home. No jig box. I looked through everything for it-no jig box. The next day, I searched the roads, the access, the lake--no jig box. I could've cried.

That's my frustration for the year, having to re-purchase a box full of jigs. All because I had a brain fart and left it on the bumper.

I'll agree with Crabby resort folks - I was at the two biggest lakes in NW minnesota last weekend and got snobby/smart assd responses from each of them when I asked where the fish were biting, or how far out are people going. Guess next time I'll give them their $10/$8 and thank them for their road.

Holes freezing up is a pain too.

I don't mind the noise of other people, I try to stay away from other people but they flock to you like your the fish whisperer at times. If only they knew i hardly ever catch fish. Trash really angers me though. Show some respect to the lakes we fish year round otherwise there wont be much left in them for others in the future.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
