Quackaddict9
I have friends who have shot benelli SBEII's for the last 4 years and they have not had any problems. They may kick hard but when your shooting at the target, you don't even realize it...at least I don't. There are many good guns out there. Browning Gold is great and ejects the shells like mad while the SBEII doesnt eject as bad, It can be annoying if the shells are ejecting in your hunting partner's way so we now put one of the guys on the far end because of this.Benelli SBEII-M2-M1Browning GoldWinchester SX2These 3 I mentioned are great guns and gain popularity, try each gun out and they all have a different feel to it. JeffB
Get what fits you best. I have shot a Benelli for the last 17-18 years and have only had it jamb in sub-zero temps. It will shoot in sub-zero temps without jambing but only if nice and clean. As far as the kick I don't shoot 3 or 3.5 inch mags at the skeet range so I have never noticed the kick, but that maybe an issue if you are a smaller or beginning shooter. I tried out an extrema but it didn't fit me well so I guess I'll stick with my beat up benelli. Then again I could be just to proud of my old gun and dumb enough to shoot it for nearly 20 years. Ouch I didn't realize it I was that old.
RylFlsh85
Benelli SBE would be a good choice, the inertia spring takes a good amount of recoil out of upland loads and even most of the heavier waterfowl loads, and it cycles like a dream from my experience. ccarlson
My 13 year old daughter shoots my old Benelli M1 for ducks and geese with 3" loads all day without problems with recoil. She weighs about 100 pounds. I bought a new M2 for myself and like that as well. It is lighter than the M1 and kicks about the same or a little less with the gel stuff in the stock to help reduce recoil. My M1 jammed on me a couple of times years ago after I used a thick gun oil. I've used a couple drops of benelli oil or any light oil since and have never had a problem.ccarlson
coombia21
spend the extra money and get the beneli super black eagle
skee0025
I'll kick in another Browning Gold vote. I picked mine up in 1999 and have yet to have a problem with it. I have hunted in all temps and conditions and it has worked flawlessly.
HNTNBUX
Benelli Super Black Eagle, hands down for me. From crows, clays, ducks, geese or turkeys one gun for everything.
caseymcq
I bought a Bretta Xtrema a little over two years ago when the Xtrema2 came out. I got it for under $1000. I am pretty happy with it. I have heard from those that have the Xtrema2 with Kick-off that the recoil is the softest of any 12 ga they have ever shot. I really think that if you go with Bretta, Benelli, Browning, etc. you may get a gun you love or you may get a gun you don't like all that well. If there is anyway you could shoot a variety of guns for a bit of a "test drive" that would be the way to go.

Finlander
You can buy three maybe four Remington Model SPR 453 3.5" instead of one spagetti B guns!
68Goat
My wife and I both shoot Xtrema 2s and love them.Beretta and Benelli are both great guns you won't go wrong with either. The Beretta will have less kick with the gas operation.I was torn between the 2 and the Beretta just fit better so I went that route. duckhuntr21
Super Black Eagle all the way. I have had one for 8 years now and the only problem it has had is when it is dirty, you cant shoot really cheap target loads. Hunting wise, it has been dropped in the water, rained on, and god only knows how much field dust has gotten in there and still shoots great. After many many cleanings, it works as good as the day i bought it. I also agree with 68goat with the extrema... it is a great gun and many of my friends shoot them but the beneli fit better. kingr
I love my Browning Gold. I've never had a problem with it. I've only got the 3" but I've never had problems with the small target loads while shooting sporting clays either
mudslinger
Win super x2! Buddy of mine has extrema 2 which shoots great with the kick off but has a mysterous bent barrel after very few trips in the field. We are both very confused about it. I too agree benelli guys are too proud to admit that they jam.
harvey lee
I have owned many different shotguns and there is on that I believe I could drag through the mud, snow, sleet or anything else and it will still fire everytime. Not a fancy gun but is always on its game.I do believe the 1187 took its place.Remington 1100
Tyler23
benelli SBE is the only shotgun i will ever own. ive had it for 5 years and had it jam on me once and that was with a screwed up 3 1/2 shell. never lets me down
CrappieDays
I go on a goose hunting trip to Saskatchewan every year and 3 of the guys I go up with have benelli SBE's. We shoot a lot of shells and at some point every trip they are taking out a back up because of one problem or another. They do take good care of their guns too. Maybe it is the fine dust in the fields that we hunt or something??? I use a Rem. 11-87 with a Belgium Browning for a back up. I have gone on this trip several years now and the only time the browning has been used up there was by one of my partners. I know there are gonna be a lot of people hatin on me for saying this but I don't see how "great" these Benelli's are. I would rather spend half the money on an 11-87. Tyler23
sounds like operator error. i hunt with 4 guys that all have SBEs and we've never had a problem with them. i completely clean my gun after every hunt and it hasnt ever let me down. IMO the 11-87s are to heavy for me especially when you spend all day hunting. i would never own one
hunter101
i had a browning gold, but it just didnt perform real well in cold and ice for me. i bought a winchester SX2 shots 1000's of rounds thru it to date and its been good for me. Id say just test as many as you can and pick the one that fits you the best.
Archerysniper
I also love my winchester SX2 you could use it for a paddle in the muck and it will still fire. I can still remember hunting in north dakota had it on a sling going out to pick up birds and had a huge flock of mallards come in just sholdered it and started shooting with water pouring out of the action I might not hit it but the gun always goes off.
