I don't know if the number of views a forum topic gets is an accurate way to gauge members interest or level of importance in the cooking world, but of all the fancy grilling techniques and specialized ways of cooking this and that which are shared in this forum, frozen pizzas and homebrewing are tops on the list of topic views in the last handful of months.

That makes me happy. smile

Heggies. and Digornios

Jacks isnt bad BUT ONLY out of a pizza oven and when hanging with your buddies in the garage. Much cheaper than any other brand out there and after a few beers, my buddies dont care either way. laugh

Pizza ovens are required for pizza cooking. There's no comparison to regular oven. I snagged one at M**ards for $27 or something this Christmas. My other one went up to the cabin.

Not trying to divert from the subject, but we do chicken fingers, french fries, tots, and whatever else. Way faster than the oven, and a much better crisp to everything.

If you dont have one, get to Fleet Farm and pick one up.

Back to pizzas.... I am going to have to bust out the pizza oven right now and pop one in. This pizza talk is killing me.

I havent been able to eat dairy products since 2007. You think this is killing you?

Why did I venture into this forum if I can't eat pizza?? No idea. It was a mistake.

I'll add one thing: I am positive Jack's pizza and the 10 dollar box is the reason I can't eat dairy products anymore.

Right now my frozen pizza of choice is Tombstone thin crust, NOT the brick oven.

Green Mill's are pretty good.

California Pizza Kitchen thin Hawaiian

I like the Digorno's, but something in them upsets my stomach.

Tony's used to be pretty good, but went down hill. Their taco pizza was awesome, it had a cornbread crust.

But my all time favorite frozen pizza was Pappalo's deep dish, and Totino's party pizza Combination.

Where can you find Heggie's in the metro?

Pizza Corner pizza is made in Valley City, ND, so the further west you look, the better odds you will find them. I like them alot. Especially the 3 meat.

And Jack's canadian bacon is very good as well, all Jack's have great sauce.

Roma's will certainly do the trick at $1.50 a piece! Top them with cholula or mrs. dash or ranch just to jazz them up.

Portesi's Pizzas--made in Stevens Point, WI is my all time favorite and, like most of you who have chimed in, I am an expert! grin

Since the Portesi pizza is a rare meal, my "go to" frozen pizza is Jack's pepperoni and sausage. And they do taste best when they are on sale.

Heggie's is overrated, overpriced, and emotionally tied to a good buzz at the local watering hole. What pizza doesn't taste great after a couple cold ones after work or ice fishing?!? Eat one sober, and it isn't worth the price. 2c

The next time I'm in northwestern Minnesota or eastern ND, I'm going to find one of the Pizza Corner pizzas and give it a try. I'm definitely interested after all the glowing reports. Shirks sounds good too.

Great thread! smile

Wow, just checked out this thread for the first time. 17 pages?!? Anyone have the crib notes version? Summarize the most popular 2 or 3?

I used to really like the Tony's sausage or canadian bacon. Mean pizza with some decent sauce for $2.50. My wife hates the crust though. Red Barons are pretty good, plus they sponser my favorite tourney.

And man oh man did I eat A LOT of Party Pizza's back in college. Made the bottom of the oven look like the Martian surface every year. We had a 2 story wall amost filled with box tops for Zesty Italiano, Combination, and Candadian Bacon from 4 guys. How can you go wrong for a $0.69 pizza when you're dirt broke?
