walleyes12
And, you most likely won't win a game if you can't even score a TD. What are you talking about? your spacing out!

FISHINGURU
lol you guys are funny...i'm not saying play booty right now...how can any of you know how much of a chance he has? just from his couple quarters of preseason with the 3rd team offense as a rookie qb?he comes from a way better system then tjunk and probably already knows the playbook better after a few months lol.do you guys really think all the good qb's today just came right in and took the league by storm? most of them sat and watched their first 1-3 yrs. they came in and were [PoorWordUsage] but they improved fast thats what kept them to being a quality starter...now they are the best in the league. bassislife
walleyes12, keywords are MOST LIKELY. Not never. Sometimes a field goal is all it takes, but more times then not you are gonna have to get in the endzone to clinch the win. What i'm saying is if they want more than 8 wins they better start getting in the endzone more often.
FISHINGURU
i was disappointed that we didn't go for it on some of them 4th and short yardage situation when we were up by 9 or 12...their offense was struggling and our defense was playing good we should of tried to punch one in...i think everyone knew it was gonna come back and bite us....manning can turn it on quick. gopher_nation
minnesota coach comparison:tim brewster has been going for the fourth and short and it has paid off, so far. chilly wants points.playing it safe vs. putting it on the linei would think this qb decision is chilly's forth down attempt, after some pressure from above

croixflats
What radio station will have the game on. I'm fishing tomorrow and battling the big cruisers on the croix. If the vikes are doing poorly I will have something to throw at them cruisers.

eyepatrol
Well I thought Gus played just fine today. Finally got to see a little bit of the long ball today and for the most part, some accurate passes. I think he read the defenses a lot better than TJack could have also.My biggest question is.....what is Chilli doing throwing the snot out of the ball in the first half??? Wow, again some very questionable play calling and game plan. Just because Gus is in there doesn't mean you abandon the run like that!Just goes to show that when you run a more balanced offense, good things happen as did in the 2nd half of the game.Defense was phenomenal today. Outstanding effort IMO.
united jigsticker
I liked the pass calls in the 1st half. If Berrian catches that pass instead of tipping it to the defense, I think it changes the perspective big time.Good job to Gus on reading the defense and stepping up into the pocket. Considering this is his first live action since last season, I would give him a "B" grade for his performance.AP still got 77 yards despite limited carries and a few stuffs. He'll rest most this week on that hamstring, and be back over 100 yards next week.5 sacks by the defense. Only allowed 10 points...Scored 6...Hey hey hey!!!Thanks FOX 9 for buying out the game!!! DTro
Also Gus knows he can’t just take off scrambling if things break down, so he has to be more patient and let things develop. Seemed to workout that way today.
FISHINGURU
there we go gus...i thought he played real good today personally..scanned the field and checked all options and made the easy throws..he was a little jacked up early on but i'm sure he was rusty and stoked to be out there...he settled in nice.what i seen today is about what i expected out of our offense for this season...except for the lack of running in the first half...but mainly a deep shot or two and take the easy play to move the chains...just let the defense keep us in it.if we could of moved the ball like this since the beginning i could easily see us at 3-0 or 2-1 at the very least.allen stepped it up when we needed him and k-will got up the middle nicely today...we tried some corner blitz for once coming from the opposite side of allen and it paid off big.we are back in it boys...lets hope GB loses to dallas tonight. bassislife
Even if GB loses tonight, they still have the better team and will still have a good chance at division title. I will say this, Gus played a good game today. For us packers fans, that may mean trouble, but we'll just have to wait and see. It was only one game...It would be nice though if the vikes would start winning so there could be a battle for the division title since it looks like the bears and lions most likely won't be a threat. Whatever happens, it should be an exciting season to watch unfold. Go Packers!
harvey lee
Lets see, who might start game 4? Not TJ. Gus may not have been the best but, they did win and in the second half, he was pretty good moving the chains.
Sandmannd
I think Chilly did name him the starter for the rest of the season. I don't think he wanted his job anymore in trouble than it already is.

Stratosman
Problem is Chilly is pretty much aditting that he made a mistake with T-Jack, spending (wasting) this much time on a QB that will get us nowhere....Gus is a temporary fix, what's he gonna do for long term? Start all over with a draft pick, or continue to nurse TJack along?
Team Otter
I was at the game today. All while being a "W", that's about where it ends. Chilly has to go.
gopher_nation
I'm still supporting Chilly. I think that one guy who started the first two games at QB will be gone. Long term, best bet at QB would be a free agent. You can't expect the draft to yield someone to step in and play. QB's can be a big draft day bust. Tough call, the front office is going to have some major decisions to make this offseason. A lot can happen between now and then though.
FISHINGURU
i doubt we'll fire a coach this yeari thought the play calling looked better today, except for the part they thought we were the colts or patriots and only ran once in like 13 attempts lol.we opened the play book up a little bit, i think we still wanted to keep it pretty basic for gus and his first start...we'll have to see how things go the next few games.we did pretty good mixing it up in the 2nd half and did what we needed to do to get the W.but i hear ya...be nice to get billick
