I noticed this weekend at my brothers place that there was a ton of acorns on his oak trees. I've always heard that if there was a big crop of acorns that it meant we were in for a long harsh winter. Anyone else ever heard that one or a version of it?

Water temperature dropped 10 degrees in 10 days. I had 70.2 today on a little lake. I'm not very good at math, but if we keep this rate up, won't we have ice by the second week of October?
