tigerbalm2424
Looking at trying a couple of these this year. I looked for reviews online but didnt find many. Anyone care to share their experience with them?
BassProAddict
Are they hugely different from the normal DT's? DT's are what I started with especially baby bass color.
tigerbalm2424
I guess I first noticed the fat series, but reviews on any of the DTs would be great.
Deitz Dittrich
I have yet to find a DT crank that I didn't like... And I am in no way connected to that company, I pay full retail on them like everyone else. I picked up a few of the newer fat series this spring, but have not got them wet yet. The DT Flat side 7's are my fave crank!
st.crioxfishin
I have been using the DT Flat 3's this spring and have really liked them. Just don't slam the crankbait on the water to get the weeds/junk off your lure when its 38 degrees outside...the bill tends to break !
RiverBassGuy
The FAT and FLAT have a squared off bill rather than the rounded front bill. Huge advantage because I broke numerous DT 7's last year with round bills bouncing them along the rock reefs. Square bills will deflect off of cover better. They are also equipped with the sureset hooks. As said, don't smack them on the water or they'll bust eventually...like any bait. Cabela's has 25% off on Rapalas until early May! Daze Off
I bought one to try but have not thrown it yet. Thought I would get the parrot color as a bluegill imitator and like someone else said - the square bill is a bonus for shallow cover. Can also use it as a wake bait if fished slowly. Central Bassman
The DT FAT is going to be a fish catching bait. The action is great for shallow water fishing and it will work goods in weeds and the river.
TonkaBass
I can't wait to give them a try. Rapala has always been a trusted company for making productive lures that not only look cool, but catch a lot of fish as well.
RiverBassGuy
For those who are curious, I found this DT Fat promotional movie if anyone is curious. click DT fat 3http://www.rapala.com/how2tv/
YUM
I bought two DT7's for this summer, they are nice becuase they have some size to them, the DT6's are sooo small, thus can be annoying to cast with baitcasting equipment.
tigerbalm2424
Anyone know where a guy could pick up some sure set treble hooks to replace the standard ones?
jwhjr
I'm sure you can find them pretty much anywhere that has hooks. I saw some at Fleet Farm over the weekend.

st.crioxfishin
I haven't had any problem casting the DT 6's, but thats just me. I actually found I was able to cast these better than some other crankbaits in the past couple weeks I've been using them.

twitch
like a few of the guys said the Dt baits are prone to the lips cracking.I was on pepin last weekend and threw the Dt fat for a bit and cracked the lip on a tree branch.
st.crioxfishin
Hey Carl,I'm going to school at the University of Iowa. Iowa doesn't have a closed season for bass, so I've been fishing down here. I also was in Indiana earlier this month for a tournament.I won't be at the Deer Lake tournament, School doesn't get out until the 16th for me... TonkaBass
I wasn't too fond of the sure sets on the DT-7. I was walking it across the rocks and couldn't keep the belly hook clean to save my life. Maybe I alone on this one. I do like the action a lot though.
TurnUpTheFishing
Im not a big fan of the sure set hooks either.
RiverBassGuy
Yeah they are tough to keep clean.
jwhjr
I picked up a DT 6 with the sure set hooks, and a DT 7 Flat with the sure set hooks today. I've had good luck with the 16's.
gritsnham
I like the DT baits alot but like previously said the lips do seem to break easily on them. Hopefully rapala will take note of that and make them stronger!
Central Bassman
Maybe thats why they work so good. Who knows!!! Either way i like them a lot!!!
