Boy shoots his first and its a dandy (Vid Added)

My buddies boy just turned 9 on April 6th and got to go out turkey hunting this morning and killed a beautiful bird.

Here is the video that Hunters mom took of the hunt. How cool to kill your first bird with both parents in the blind with you.

Stats -

23 lbs.

1 inch spurs

10 inch beard

Great video. Bullhead, it's nice to see Hunter is a chip off the old block. Maybe even better than the old man?

Very, very exciting. I love those home-video shots often more than the professional video work. You get to hear the whispers, see the excitement building for the hunter and the camera-person, just really adds to the anticipation.

Good work too whoever was on the call steering him from the woods-edge.

Seeing it come full-circle with the whole family in the blind, very cool.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words! This was definitely a truly memorable hunt for him, his dad and I. We could not have asked things to work out any better (other that a double to come in so I could have shot one too! He checks this posting constantly to see what everyone writes only making the event more special. I finally got mine this morning - a Jake and he is pretty proud his is SOOO much bigger!! Good luck to everyone for the rest of the season and thanks for adding to his memories!

Yeh - I grew up with his Dad and they moved up to Ottertail quite a few years back now, but we bought a cabin up by them last year, so we always call each other with hunting stories(Usually they call me - I don't get to call them to much).

That boy is gonna hunt - Just like his folks!

They sent me the pic and I had to get it on here. Then his dad called and said the video was on You Tube - Had to put a link to that too.
