dmengel
The house looks great, & it looks like you are doing it right the first time rather than doing it twice. Two bits of advice that I have is #1 make sure that you have enough windows. I have a 16' house with 4 pretty big windows & I really enjoy being able to see out. If I was to do it again I might even think about adding one or two more windows. I relize that its hard to get everything that you need on the walls with all of the windows but if you can do it its great. 2nd is the heater, Make sure its vented above all. I have a Empire that the heat comes out of the top & it seems to work fine. My brother has a forced air in his & it does work well but he seems to have a problem with people having to sit in front of the vent & blocking the air flow. Anyway keep up the good work on it & keep sending in the photos.

Big Buck Buster
DMC, did you pick out a heater yet? I found a used forced air furnace on hsolist for $75. The person that I purchased it from said that it was in a house that got torn down. It measures 82" tall by 14" wide by 12" deep. I got it home and hooked up the gas, stat, and plugged it into my power inverter. Runs great on one battery. I am running it to see how long it will last on just one. I plan on having three batteries in the house anyway. So far so good. If you haven't purchased on yet, you might consider on of these.
MuleShack
Originally Posted By: Big Buck Buster It measures 82" tall by 14" wide by 12" deep. Is this a typo? 82" tall? mine is like 12 x 12 x 24 or something. But for $75 bucks, what the heck.
luv2fish
DMC (or anyone) - Might be something you have not even looked at, but has anyone got any good leads for Foam? I am taking my 2 bed fishhouse into 4. SO I need to make 2 more beds. I have been looking at Fabric stores, and a piece of 4"x24"x72 runs like $80. Anyone know any secret places to get this cheaper? Big Buck Buster
I was up at milaca unclaimed freight yesterday, they had all kinds of bunk bed mattresses. They were from 72" to 90". The 30" by 72" is 57.00. The 30" by 90" is 69.98. Not that bad of a price. They also have a lot of other accesories for your house.
jerkbait
fishhousesupply.com has them also.
Big Buck Buster
No, this is not a typo. This heater is out of a house. It is 65,000 btu's. It is 110 volt, that is why I am running it on a power inverter. I couldn't go wrong on the price. It is a little overkill, but the furnace won't run as much, conserving on battery power. It is made by Empire.
walleyeaddict
that would be rather large!
Big Buck Buster
I figure that it is going to work out well because of the design of the air flow. It pulls all the air from the cieling, and blows it to the floor. Guess that we will find out when I install it in the fish house. If it doesn't work well, I plan to heat my shop with it. mediocrates67
that's gotta be heavy too?
Big Buck Buster
Not really. I don't think it even wieghs more than fifty pounds. I don't plan on taking it in and out of the house once it is in anyway. We plan on building into an inner wall between the fishing area and the bathroom, or build it into the cabinetry that will be along that wall. deadminnowcatcher
51.00 a sheet from The company that builds the Lodge fish house in Brookings SD. The diamond plate was 70.00 a sheet. 50 for the stainless screws
Big Buck Buster
Thanks for the info. Lot of colors to choose from? We were thinking of bright red or black. What is your cieling hieght (inside)? We were thinking of putting ours at 7'. Did you have to pick up the siding in SD, or will they deliver?

baitmyhook
My ultimate fish house when I can afford it will be a Soderblum v-front with four folding side bunks and a rear door big enough to load a Wil-craft into. That way I've got a base camp and scout vehicle all in one.
