yes rum river is full of hunters i have hunted it 3 years i think or maybe 4 and hunter numbers keep growing but i have only seen another hunter walk bye once in 4 years. The woods are thick depending where you set up. But we havent had much luck the past 2 years. ive had more luck on carlos avery. last year the wed after opener i shot one and this year on bow opener i shot a doe. IM REALLY thinking of braving the crowds and going to carlos avery for opener i have a few spots that i like but i bet alot of people like them too.

i did go to sherburne once bow hunting saw alot of small game hunters and nothing els. I bet its really a zoo on opener and there is less cover than in rum river. the good thing is that half the people go to the mille lacs wildlife management area too

TETTEGOUCH STATE PARK SILVER BAY MN. Lottery deer hunt second yr in a row. The deer there flow as thick as the BullS*** in deer camp 5 deer bag limit for person beautiful country, pretty rugged terrain, unpressured for the most part, and none the less majical then anywhere else! OH AN HUUUGGGEE BUCKS!!!

Anyone headed for Carlos Avery should be warned it could be closed as there was a big fire west of Wyoming in the WMA. Watch the news and figure out a backup plan.
