Phred52
Oilman, What a GREAT offer!! Guys, JUMP on this... If you haven't tried Amsoil, here's your chance! For FREE!!! Amsoil is incredible! You can use your auger in your fish-house and NOT coat your walls with BLACK GOO!! It actually smells good. Quick starts, and little blue! I ordered my Amsoil online before "THEOILMAN" was a sponsor. Been using it for years, DON'T pass up this opportunity!! It's all I use, in my auger, chainsaw, weedwhip. The same gas can. DON'T miss out! CSP88
Don, a very generous offer. Anybody that has not tried this, needs to. It greatly enhanced my augers performance last year. It improved the starting and it ran smoother cutting holes.Chad
pascooter94
does it work in a old augers as well, my dad gave me his old one were he just put in any old oil in it, it will be the frist time in years it has run?
theoilman
How old? Any back to 1980 vintage machine no problem using it at the lean mixture, as lean as 100-1. Older than that, the carburetion and bearing designs tend to vary quite a lot. You can still use the Saber Professional, but in machines older than 1980 you will have to use it richer - at least 50-1 and perhaps richer. I would recommend start at 25-1 and run a couple of tanks of fuel then re-evaluate: if the plug tip is oily wet and the exhaust port is oily wet then you are richer than you need and can go leaner. One other caution for older machines. If you have had a history of heavy carbon buildup you may need to have it decarboned before changing to AMSOIL Saber Professional. If not, the AMSOIL will clean the carbon, but it may break away in chunks that hang in the exhaust port and may scar the piston or cylinder wall. This is NOT a lubricant failure that AMSOIL will warranty, but is a result of the benefit of cleaning and running cleaner.
Skeets
I have never tried this oil, but I am this year! My auger takes 24:1, but from what I read this 100:1 is acceptable? I just placed an order, and also signed up for the free trail!

theoilman
Yes, you can use the AMSOIL Saber Professional at 100-1 mix ratio in all your air cooled pre-mix 2-cycle engines: auger, chain saw, string trimmer, etc. AMSOIL gives you a full lubricant warranty that it won't cause damage to your machine at this lean ratio. It will run nearly smokeless (many report no-smoke at all), and greatly reduced odor. I have seen a lot of posts about people running their auger inside their fish house - closed, though I recommend at least opening the door briefly to get in fresh air.It is not made using petroleum based lube, but is a diester synthetic, made by combining an alcohol with a fatty acid, both agricultural by-products. It is ashless, burns away clean leaving no carbon behind and leaving a clean spark plug.Another benefit, though it is not actually rated, is many people report mixed fuel does not deteriorate with it - many have reported using mixed fuel left over from last year and still cranks on 1st or 2nd pull. Kallista
Will that work on my AC quad?
theoilman
The Saber Professional can be used in a 2-stroke pre-mix machine. Do NOT use in any 2-stroke oil injection engine. However, the better AMSOIL choice for 2-stroke quads, ATVs, etc would be the Interceptor which can be used in oil injection or 50-1 as a pre-mix. Most of these 2-stroke engines are 'power-valve' engines that the Interceptor is the best oil for.
TurnUpTheFishing
Im going to try Amsoil Saber this year. Last year I ran a regular oil/gas mixture in my Jiffy. When I gas up this year with Amsoil can I go straight to 100:1?
Northlander
I would start a little richer your 1st few tanks. Maybe 80-1. What do you think Oilman. I ran my old Jiffy at 80-1 for 2 tanks then 90-1 the rest and it worked real good.
theoilman
Yes, you can safely go to 100-1, or you can start at the richer 80-1, both ways work. Some people stay at 80-1 with excellent success, some deliberately, some for convenience. For example I sell a lot to a Parks & Recs dept that mix 5 gallon cans with an 8-oz bottle giving them 80-1 - to simplify for many people mixing it. They have been using this for 6 years now - on their previous brand of oil they got 2 years out of a string cutter before throwing it away worn out. Now they get at least 4 years and some longer, saving them over $3000 a year on not buying machines due to being worn out (a very big saving for spending only a couple hundred dollars on oil). The only problem can come when there is a heavy build-up of carbon, typically from extended use of poor quality oils. In this case the ratio won't matter. The better cleaning properties of the AMSOIL will clean the carbon possibly in large chunks that hang in the exhaust ports scoring the piston and cylinder walls. If you have had carbon fouled plugs in the past you may need to have the carbon removed before changing to AMSOIL Saber Professional. Note - this is not a warranty covered lubricant failure but instead is a result of the cleaning properties.

theoilman
Yes, Saber Professional works great in all your 2-cycle air-cooled pre-mix engines/machines. It gives the same great performance whether it is your auger, chain saw, string-trimmer, hedge trimmer, blower, pump, cut-off saw, etc - all 2-cycle air-cooled pre-mix machines. You can use the same ratio in all of them. Some choose to use 100-1, some choose to be richer at 80-1. Even at 50-1 it will still be smokeless or nearly smokeless in everything. My local Parks and Recs dept uses it in everything 2-cycle. Before AMSOIL they got 2 years life out of a string cutter. Now with AMSOIL they are getting 4 years and more! They figure they are saving over $3000.00 per year by spending under $300.00 per year on AMSOIL Saber Professional - by not having to buy 10 new string cutters every year due to worn out power heads (they do have to buy some due to expansion, units getting dropped off a truck and run over, etc. and other non-wear-out or lubricant related failures). AMSOIL may be high priced to purchase, but in the long term it is the lowest cost! Buy Now I appreciate your business. Register for Free Oil NOTE: Saber Professional prod. code ATP is for all your air cooled machines (with a yellow and red label). Saber Outboard prod. code ATO is for your pre-mix outboard water cooled engines (with a blue/green label).
