officially scoring a B&C Elk

I was lucky enough to shoot a 374-2/8 inch gross elk in New Mexico last week with a muzzleloader. After the 60 day period, I'd like to have it scored, officially. Who can help me with the process. I killed it on public land and would love to post a photo and tell the story if anyone can help me. Thanks for the help.

Here's the story...We were hunting in a State forest in NM, public land. I'd love for it to be a more compelling story but my guide who I've been with for three years (Phil Treadwell from Limestone Outfitters) had been hunting this land for the bow season and knew this bull was there (there being a 500 square mile State forest). We went out opening morning hoping for a bull bigger than the 320 I killed last year. It had been an excellent year forage wise for the elk so we thought some bigger bulls were around. At shooting light we heard a bugle and headed it's direction, on the way this bull bugled. Phil put us in a spot to intercept him and he happened to come out in the right spot we were hoping for. 100 yards broadside, one shot from the 50 caliber Knight and he just walked away and died We thought he was big but not this big. I guess the real story was that the bull had been scouted, by Phil, and everything came together. Usually, something goes wrong, or the luck is with the animal but this time the scouting by the guide and a little bit of good fortune worked out.

OK good thing no one was around when I opened this page. That jibberish that blurted out of my mouth when I saw that monster was unintelligible even to me. I think it was something like like when you see a really hot girl and you just kind blurt out some sort of instinctual grunting type phrase.

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE ELK! Congrats!!!

What a stud!!! A classic huge elk- big ol' whale tails, long sword points, long main beams, and it's thick from top to bottom. How long are those sword points? Just awesome! I saw one this Sep that would have been this dude's brother, but not quite as thick as that brute. I called him in to about 120 yards, but he was waaaaaayyyy too smart to come any closer.

Congrats on a great trophy. Also, congrats to you for taking it on public land.
