Questor
I like www.weather.com, but it takes a lot of clicks to get the information I want. Can you tell me of a good weather site that will quickly tell me the wind and frontal conditions that are relevant to fishing? Thanks.
Harmonica Bear
I always use the natiional weather service, they pretty much tell the way it is.http://www.nws.noaa.gov/For wind forcasts the link below is pretty good, the one on the bottom for MIlle Lacs is very reliable and accurate.http://www.iwindsurf.com/windandwhere.iws?regionID=100http://www.iwindsurf.com/windandwhere.iws?regionID=100&siteID=1403&Isection=Forecast+Graphs\
blueroof
Weather Underground is pretty good, they have a mobile page that shows animated NEXRAD images on mobile phones if wanted. The page is wunderground((Contact Us Please))com. LB
Jackpine Rob
Weather Underground is one of the best I've found. You can click on Detail for a particular day and get wind speed and direction, temperature, etc. For deer hunting I print out the daily detail and use it to plan which stands to use and how to approach them. Pretty accurate stuff.

Scott K
Since we are on the weather topic, where is a good site to get total rainfall amounts for day/month/year ?
OakdaleFMR
Accuweather with the normal ending applied will give you a 15 day forecast, and has been reliable for me in the past.
MinnesotaBoatman
The monthly almanac on weather underground has a daily precipitation recap.
LMITOUT
National Weather Service....weather.gov They have a good radar too, as does Weather Underground.I've never been impressed with the Weather Channels forecasts.
hartner62
I would also go with accuweather. Gives wind, temp, precip, and pretty much anything else you could want
echotrail
I like the Weather Undergound also because you can track a storms history for the past few hours and it also projects the future path with the "Storm Tracks" feature.
Gissert
It is not really for fishing info, but John Dee has an excellent site, escecially for winter forecasts.
Troublehook
try intellicast((Contact Us Please))comi use it just about everyday and I like it a lot.
ScottL
This is the one I use. http://www.usairnet.com/cgi-bin/launch/code.cgi?Submit=Go&sta=KBBB&model=avn&state=MNIts a wind forecast model for aviation, but also has the other esentials that most fisherman look for. sodajerk
Quote:Since we are on the weather topic, where is a good site to get total rainfall amounts for day/month/year ? The Minnesota Climatology site has historic weather data going way back. Surface Tension
I use NOAA, Underground, Intellicast and local TV stations. I'd imagine they all get their data from NOAA or National Weather Service. Some of these use their own meteorologists some don't and just repeat what the NWS meteorologists say. Slyster
One of my FAVORITE weather resources to watch and plan for fishing! It' a bit south of the cities.. but might as well be in Hugo when it comes to overall trends and winds etc.. for fishing! http://www.crh.noaa.gov/mpx/MPXCurrentWx.php Here's another... http://www.nws.noaa.gov/forecasts/graphical/sectors/minnesota.php#tabs
walleyemkr
I too use accuweather...the hour-to-hour forecasts are extremely nice (and seem accurate) for planning a hunt or post-work fishing spot. They include wind, barometer, etc... Just takes a couple clicks from home page to your local daily hour-to-hour.
Random guy
I have spent the summer printing out and double checking reports after the fact. Intellecast, Accu weather, weather underground, weather (Contact Us Please) com, and a few other including the national service and found that accu weather was alway the best when it came tpo wind forecasts.
