Down the Hole

OK. Now that ice season is nearly over, what did you loose down the hole? Every year somebody is crying the blues about something. This year I did pretty good. I only lost a 4" rapala fillet knife. If I would have moved a little faster I wouldn't even had lost that, but I thought the wood handle would float. Not. So, what did you loose?

If a man speaks, and his wife isn't around to hear him, is he still wrong?

It hurt watching that go down on the Vex

That is the worst isn't it? I seem to loose something every year. It's usually later in the season when I get a little to sure of myself. This year I lost a Genz stick combo. I watched it sink on my vex too.

Was watching a movie one morning on Mille Lacs when I heard a "whoosh", looked up & my st. croix rod & reel was not sitting on the bed anymore frown.gif. I got to the hole in time to watch it sink down to 20 ft on some gravel. I could see the chrome of the reel on the bottom. I grabbed my other rod, tied on my biggest spoon and snagged it on the first try. Best part was, when I got it up the hole, the rod tip was a wobblin', I ended up reeling in a nice 13" perch. Bet I couldn't do it again if you gave me a hundred tries grin.gif

I lost a ST. Croix rod and reel down the hole this year too. I never got it back even jigging a treble off the bottom. Oh, well, those rod and reel combo's are junk anyways. I sure was sick when it happened, though!

Nothing expensive. I took a buddy out and he had a hangover. He bought some brats to cook on the ice. I got the water boiling and grabed the brats. When to open them and shot up in the air and right in the hole. A very Jordan like shot. He was [PoorWordUsage]ed cause he was starvin and hung over, but I couldn't stop laughing. Made him some Rama and all was almost better.

I was fortunate, didn't lose anything. Friend of mine dropped his phone w/i the first hour of being out on the ice for the year. Angrily, i had to snag a few beer cans off the bottom that someone **accidently** throw down while i was fishing. Was lucky though and got them all!

Does this mean you're not coming fishing with me? For the record, he is a real good buddy.

I'm not going to get into an arguement with you, but if you've driven on lakes for a couple of years, way to pollute our lakes with dripping vehicle fluids. If you've ever relieved yourself on the ice, way to pollute our lakes with raw sewage.

Take a breath.

My buddy lost his unattended ice rod down the hole. I said just wait one of us might catch it and sure enough his son thought he was getting one and when his lure got to the hole he had his dad's pole. Grabbed the pole and sure enough the walleye was still on, but wouldn't you know it, that got off at the hole too!!

Oh well - he was happy to get his ice combo back!!!

By that logic, we may as well all leave our empty 1lb. cylinders, blocking for our permanents, garbage or whatever else out on the ice, after all everyone else is polluting.

Are you SERIOUS?

I think Boilerguys first comment was sarcasm...not logical thinking. Let's try to not hijack this thread anymore. I think it is bad for this environment...
