COT races

How much impact do you all expect the COT to have at a high bank short track where aerodynamics really don't make a huge difference?

Regardless, I think the 2 could be strong as well.

A lot! its Bristle baby! Lets smash them (non stock) cars up. JK Yeah, not sure how much they are to learn about the cars at that track. I bet the pit stops will be a bit tougher with the bigger cars.

I think it wil be a noticeable difference for the crews. The car is wider and taller which will change the setups a lot from what they ran last year. Even though its a 1/2 mile track, with speeds at 120 mph, there is surely SOME aerodynamic effect too.

If I remember right Dale Jr. said they were not close to having the COT dialed in during testing at Bristol, and they were still as fast if not faster than their normal car. Of course, with 43 cars out there who knows how things will go.

I'll go with 20 car!!! Alot of past driving experience will help with these cars, some drivers need their cars to be perfect and the way it sounds that won't happen with the COT. At the Bristol tests they could only get good grip on the front or back, but not both. Should be intresting

I don't think the downforce on this track has much to do about how well these cars perform , it's the balance in the suspension that is driving them nuts at practice. If anything, if anyone could remember their "notes" from the late 70's/early 80's when they had the Monte Carlo/Olds Cutlas bodies that they would get their knowledge from. Plus it doesn't hurt to have good brakes and a smart bumper. I love the short tracks, none of this airo push garbage, just good old racing. I'm leaning towards a RCR car winning this weekend, and not HACKvick grin.gif.

The same as usual, the guys who can stay out of the wrecks and not make mistakes in the pits will be up front...why on earth did they pick Bristol to race these cars?? About the only think they will find out is how well they stand up to contact with each other and the walls!

I thought it was the ideal track to start out on. A lot of low speed crash testing to gather data on before they turn them loose.

My money is on Dave Blaney! grin.gif

Oh wait, our predictions make your picks??? I think Reutiman really has Bristol figured out, and of course Mikey is awesome there...
