Ice Armor gloves

Are the Ice Armor gloves (not mitts) warm in addition to being waterproof? The tag said they were insulated, but didn't specify how much like the mitts. I know the mitts would be warmer, but I want some gloves. So, are they worth 30 bucks? If not, what are some warm gloves? Waterproof isn't essential but a bonus.

I have 2 sets. Both have been warm enough and have not leaked. Some FMers have had them leak. This years model has 2 layers of waterproofing. The outsides get wet however my hands have never gotten wet. I believe that they are worth the money

The gloves performance is really in the eye of the beholder. Why do I say it that way?

I have the gloves and would recommend them to anyone on the ice. The insulation is just right, they are easy to slide on and off and have kept my hands dry on the ice.

However my father in-law read about them, bought a pair for mainly hunting late season pheasants in the Dakotas and his hands do not stay warm. Matter of fact he thought they were a waste of money.

For me, they were well worth the $$ and haven't regretted buying them.

It sounds like an extra layer of waterproofing; from earlier post. The velcro tabs are not only plastic like last year. That kept me from buying a pair, but I did last week as the tabs are now thread reinforced and will not crack. Used them musky fishing on tuesday, thou the temps were not a true test I was impressed.

I own a pair of these and love them. Now, I'm thinking about buying a pair of the ice armor mits. They look pretty sweet, and should make it a little easier to stuff my wet hands in them. Wet hands can be a problem with the gloves. Perhaps even use one mit and one glove while hole hopping. Hmmm...

Either one, I recommend the ice armor gear.

I had 2 sets of the gloves last year, was not real impressed. The gloves always stayed dry inside, but once the outside was wet they felt cold inside. They are nice for a warmer day on the ice. I also had the problems with both pairs velcro cracking and my girlfriends had the same issue.

I just bought a pair of the mits, and was impressed with what you get for the money. My background in gloves and mittens is from skiing and snowmobiling, where you pay for the name. If I want a warm pair of ski gloves, I'd expect to pay nearly a hundred bucks, so when I saw the Ice Armor mits for thirty, I jumped at it. Not sure what they'll be like for fishing, but they can't be any worse than the crappy ski gloves I had last year.

I picked up a pair this year for the grip and waterproof protection.

My plan is a heavy pair of columbia gloves for the pull or walk out. The ice armor gloves for being outside jigging or tip ups and then my other ones for inside the shake or for just being out a bit are the old mitten/glove with the exposed fingers.

Exactly what I thought they were for, keeping your hands warm when setting tip ups and drilling holes, and getting the stuff packed up when it's dark and much cooler.

I'm going to pick some up at the show if they give a break.

Good posting guys.

I had two pairs last winter. The first pair were junk. The liners got all twisted up and the velco cracked. The second pair turned out to be one of the best piece of equipment I got last winter I wore them for work which was more of a test than on the ice. So it just depends some were good and some weren't but I am sure they would be much improoved this year as far as quality goes.
