Movie rental reviews...

I watched a couple video's this weekend and thought I'd share. We watched "The Matador" with Pierce Brosnan and Greg Kinnear. The movie was a bit slow and painful to watch. The plot was slow developing and predictable. There were a few "adult" scenes in there what were funny but otherwise I'd have to recommend passing on the movie or waiting for it to be a .99 rental.

The kids watched "The Shaggy Dog" with Tim Allen. There was a lot of good humor in it and it is a good family movie. I'd recommend making some popcorn and sitting down to watch this movie with your family.

Last week I watched "The Pink Panther" with the kids and really enjoyed it. There were a few scenes where I really laughed my butt off. I really liked the "Hamburger" scene. Another good choice for a movie night.

I will share some more movie reviews when I get them. If anyone has any questions about some other movie rental possibilities feel free to ask because I have seen a lot of movies!

Corey Bechtold

Corey, I agree with The Matador, I wasn't impressed neither, even my wife which is a HUGE Pierce Brosnan fan didn't like it much.

Anyway, does anybody use Netflix or Blockbuster DVD rentals ?

I had Netflix and switched to Blockbuster, I don't see much difference.

Watched 2 in the last 2 days...

A history Of Violence

Pretty good movie, I would give it 3.5 our ot 5....plenty suspence and somewhat keeps you guessing even though I found it a bit predictable.

Capote

Decent movie, a bit long, but worth renting. again 3.5 out of 5. The movie moved a bit slow for me but the acting by Philip Seymore Hoffman is worth the price of rental alone.

We watch TONS of movies.

Recently watched The Benchwarmers a couple weeks ago. It's pretty good and the kids enjoyed.

Next on the list is Inside Man. It's sitting on the entertainment center just waiting to be watched. From what I've heard, it's pretty good.

I'll agree Petie. We saw it last night and weren't blown away. If they would have left out a few "S" words and clean up a little adult humor it would have been ok for my kids to watch. Other than that I'd rather see something else.

Good luck,

Sorry to hear you're watching "Benchwarmers" tonight. It's probably a 5 beer movie to make it good. Or else 2 beers and fall asleep on the recliner. tongue.gif

I watched "Fun with Dick and Jane" last night and thought it was a good view. It was a bit predictable but had a lot of good laughs. If anyone has ever watched it they have to appreciate the Ford Festiva car scenes. I really liked how loaded Jim Carrey had it with sod! grin.gif A good rent and it's good enough not to qualify for the "Beer" rating.

Former SNL Adam Sandler is one of my favorites, I enjoyed Anger Management but there are some scenes children better stay away from.

I could not stop laughing when ole Woody Harrelson dressed up like a woman mentions he's coming from a little bavarian town of.....watch the movie.

Finally watch Inside Man, I thought it was pretty good.

Also rented Scary Movie 4. It was alright. Just glad I rented it and didn't buy it.

Also have a copy of V for Vendetta laying around that I need to watch too.

We watched "Glory Road" last night. It was a good movie and seeing that it was based on a true story made it better.

I'd recommend watching this movie. It's a Disney produced movie so it would be ok for kids. There are only a couple swear words that I noticed.

Good luck,

Watched Silent Hill a couple nights ago. It was alright except for the few very creative barbwire induced deaths.

Kids will probably be creeped out by it and definitely shouldn't watch the end of the movie due to cretive death sequences. I didn't find it creepy in the least bit, but then again a lot of it seemed really fake.

We were up to sisters place on Mille Lacs over the week-end and after the fishing, eating, card playing and casinoizing were done, we put in a Movie...."Eight Below" a Disney movie about some sled dogs that got left behind, in the dead of winter, by some of the the most inept cast of characters one could imaging.

If you want to see some beautiful, well trained dogs, which I might ad, should all be given an award for their acting ability, this is a good one...if you are looking for a titilating storyline and aone acting...get something else!

The above was Sat. night, "Failure To Launch" was Sun. night and aside from a few pretty funny parts...this one will put you to sleep also!

One thing though...you can bet that Howie Long and James Brown are going to tear Terry Bradshaw up this football season, for his roll in this movie! smile.gif

The wife rented that Antonio Banderas dancing movie "Take the Lead" the other night. It was an OK movie, a bit overdone for the most part. One tip for you though, put the captions on because I couldn't understand a word Antonio said! grin.gif

Oh yea, I'd give it a 3-4 beer movie to take the edge off.LOL

If you like sports movies......I am not a big soccer fan, but I watched the movie "GOAL" last night and it was very good. About an illegal immigrant that gets discovered and makes it to tryout for one of the big England club teams.....Very good movie!

Just picked up a few movies during the last week or so.

The kids seemed to enjoy RV. Haven't watched it myself, but I'm sure one of these nights I'll watch it.

Me and the older kid just watched The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift. It was better than last one, but still nothing great.

Now I just need to get around to watching Xmen 3 and Luckynumberslevin. cool.gif
