Putting it to rest.

I just wanted to clear a few things up.

It would appear some questions have been brought up and I would like to give the answer about Jon Petrowske, from Jon Petrowske.

As many of you have noticed I am no longer Pro-Staff or moderator on these pages. Nothing bad happened nor did I have some falling out with Fishing Minnesota its staff or ownership. I love HSO, Fishing Minnesota, and Ice Leaders and will be around these pages when I can.

I have undergone many changes in my life in the last few months with career moves and health issues. These changes have not allowed me the time to participate on a Pro-Staff level for many companies including Fishing Minnesota. To be honest with you I am so busy my boat has not left the garage in three or four weeks. Is that not a crime or what? I couldn’t tell you one thing about Mille Lacs because I haven’t had the chance to be on Mille Lacs this year.

So I stepped down by my own accord. I felt that the muskie forums are more then well manned with guys like, Rob Kimm, Luke from Muskie Mojo, Steve Jonesi, MuskyBug, MuskyDanno just to name a few that are very very knowledgeable and well respected musky anglers.

So the sky has not fallen and all is good, I’m just retired from the fishing industry. During years of guiding and singing for the sponsors I forgot that fishing was fun, I’m going to see if I can find that again.

That’s all.

Jon,

Best of luck to you in this decision. Your info and input will be missed in the muskie forum. It'll be nice to have you around occasionally, but too bad you won't be here to answer questions within 15 minutes of them being posted- you always stayed right on top of things!

Best of luck with health, job, life.

Sounds good Jon, keep us updated on how things are going. Even being retired from Pro-Fishing, you will always be a wealth of knowledge on the subject. Thanks for all your tips an input in the past.

Muskybug, I can't believe I'm going to say this but one thing I have learned fishing flatheads; Musky gear is not heavy enough for them bruisers. I still love chasing musky but sitting on a remote strech of river all by your lonesome with no jet skis, party boats, walleye trollers or crowded landings all while hooking into a fish that has power to drag you overboard if it desired to do so can't be ignored. Plus I have caught big musky, pike, walleye, crappies , bass, sturgeon, trout so all that was left in Minnesota was big catfish or big sunnies. I'll leave those silly panfish to Matt Johnson. wink.gif

See! No Jet skis, boats, or noise. Just peacful water and some interesting fish. How can you not like an area like this?

Plus I have reason to buy a jet boat and crash into stuff! smile.gif

Jon, you are a very good man. I look forward to seeing you on the water where the "Beast" swims. Hopefully, it will be this year! Raised her again.

The third or second week of season I watched her take a bluegill of the surface. I wondered is she was ever going to stop coming out of the water before she turned and went back down. She is a lot of fish, hope you have good knots. wink.gif
