Quickstrike
I have many friends who do not take fishing nearly as seriously as I do and I cannot count the times when someone jumps in the boat and asks, what's with all the rods?!?! I was interested to see what my fellow FMers carried on their average day on the water and then maybe this way I'll feel a bit more normal. Fenwick HMG 6ft Light Action Spinning(light jigging, bobber) Fenwick HMG 7ft Medium Action Spinning (bottom bouncer) Fenwick HMG 7ft Medium Heavy Casting (pike/bass) St. Croix Premier 6"6' Medium Light Spinning (jigging) St. Croix Premier 7ft Medium Action Casting (bass plastics) St. Croix Avid 7 ft Medium Light Spinning (Lindy/jigging) Team Daiwa 5"8' Medium Action Spinning (vetical jigging) Berkley Lightning Rod 7 ft Spinning (anything and everything Berkley Lightning Rod 6"6' Casting ditto! St Croix Avid 7 wt fly-rod (bass trips only) A few more will likely make it into the boat by season's end but that should be a good start for now. I may actually weed a few out for league and tournaments as it gets to be a mess with two guys in a boat with 25 rods! What do you guys carry and what do you feel is a good number of rods to be most efficient without going overboard.
RobertELee
I dont have my list in front of me but to summaraze I will have 10 St. Croix Avid and Premier rods, different actions and lengths paired with mainly shimano curados and a couple pflueger presidents. And a couple shimano spinning rods paired with shimano reels. Also about 110 lbs of tackle. I would like more but I cant fit any more into my boat and im also buying a house this summer so all of my money will be going towards that and GAS . cold one sd
I should print these out also. My wife squeals every time I get a different rod. If she had her way, I would still be fishing with a solid fiberglass buggy whip.
Chris Haley
For me it depends on the day and what I'm fishing for. Opener, I'll have a 6'3"St Croix Legend Tournament for jigging and a 7'6" St Croix Legend Tournament for rigging. That's it. Don't need a cluttered boat!!!! Or to carry rods for Bass when it isn't even open yet.

DTro
I'm really amazed at the number of rods/reels people need to have. I have 1 ultralight/spinning, 1 med/spinning, 1 med/baitcaster, and 2 (1 for backup) heavy/spinning cat rigs. I guess I'm in the minority. I really don't find myself coveting the next guy or needing 25 rigs. I don't mind retying. It's funny because we have all this outrage about gas prices, but yet a guy's gotta have a rod/reel for every type of bite or every species of fish. I do have to admit though. It would be nice behind the wheel of my own RiverPro
harvey lee
dtro It is alot nicer to have all these rod as you can go to the lake and not bother with tying jigs and such. No,one does not need that many rods but its just more toys. Its nice crappie fishing with 4 ultralights. You can set one up for slip bobbers, jigging with a couple different styles and colors.I guess im just lazy.
