Ugliest Fish

JK.....I like to tease you warm water fanatics but my real ugly list would have to be:

1. Paddlefish

2. Sheepshead

3. POUT (although very cool)

I'm just glad the Northern Snakehead hasn't yet invaded our waters. Now those things are ugly.

Alright guys... I need to know what kind of characteristics you guys look for when deciding that a fish is ugly. There are many fish on these lists that aren't ugly, they aren't pretty, but they just happen to be rough fish.

Take the Sheepshead for example. It doesn't have whiskers, it doesn't have teeth, it doesn't have legs, it doesn't have weird fins, so what makes it ugly? Or is it just because you don't like to catch them.

A Red Horse Sucker is also a rough fish with a bugle snout, but the coloring on them can be spectacular, especially the ones with the dark red fins. Ugly fish or not?

Does having a sucker mouth automatically make a fish an Ugly Fish?

I wouldn't consider a sturgeon ugly either, they are very, very cool looking.

About the only fish that I will truly call ugly is a Dogfish. Yuck!

I cant really think of another real ugly fish, pout have some really cool markings on em, plus how can you hate a fish that try's to hug you when you catch it

Even Catfish are kindal cool looking and you gotta give the Flattie its respect for being a top level predator!

Last week at Mille Lacs I looked down the hole and saw a gnarley ugly fish just staring back at me! I studied it for the longest time thinking what could it be? A giant eel pout mabye? Mabye one of those dreaded bighead carp got in there somehow? Anyone wanna guess what it was?

Well beauty is in the eye's of the beholder...I believe having a sucker mouth is considered as ugly...Sucker's aren't red, redhorses are!... THey are the same family, but different fishes...

I think all fish are great and not ugly at all. But if I had to choose they would be:

1.Eels

2.Lamperys

3.Bullheads

1)Bowfin--ugly and hungry--bad combination

2)Pike--They ain't pretty they're just mean

3)Carp--only women look good with those lips
