boatluvr
I have two "open water" rigs. One is powered by a four stroke and my favorite (pictured below on the left) is powered by a two stroke....in the front and one in the back. I will be using the two stoke on opener at the BWCA. Ray Esboldt
Matt, Welcome to the Crestliner family! That is a sweet rig! Here's my new one. It's a 1850 Crestliner Fish Hawk Tiller with a 90hp Optimax. Notice the vinyl floors. That's perfect for a slob like myself.
lots of luck
This will be my third season running the Cajun. The pictures are from when I brought it home from southern Michigan. It has been taken well care of and I have enjoyed it, but I believe it may be for sale at the end of this season or early next season. I have been working on the wife for some time on a new boat, she says probably, but my check book says think again. Year: 1988 Model: Entreprenuer Length: 17'-3" Engine: GM 4.3 L, V6, 175Hp, OMC Outdrive, 2BL Rochester Carb It is a one of a kind boat. Kind of fun being in something a little different. Plus it is a great family and fishing boat. Nice rear and front casting decks. Sparkly too!!!

Ha you got that right pictures taken at mom and dad's in Long Prairie MN. We do have trees in ND though they are call shelter belts though The Stats are as follows It is a non current 2004 so brand new 1775 Prov SE with a 140 4 stroke EFI Johnson. I like it alot so far can't really come up with any complaints yet. Other than I can't hear the motor when it is running. It pops on plane really fast. After I am done at Marine_Man's house tomorrow it will be all ready to go. I will have my all my electronics on it that I am planning to put on right now. Matt Johnson
TNFL, Thanks. Yep, it was on Coon. One of the closest lakes to Minnesota Marine and the boat was in desperate need of finding water after I picked it up

tigertrout
Thanks, The bass boat stays in the garage year around and the big boat's year around home is on lake Pepin with many trips to Duluth's big water. (downriggers are not on in the picture, we run 4 cannon mag 10's)

CASTnBLAST
Only had it out once on a small crappie lake, too small to get her crankin out and the speedo didn't work but I think I got it unplugged won't know for sure till this weekend.Could have used the gps but didn't think about it,worked on that for a half hour trying to get a depth reading (no manual) turns out the guy never installed a transducer must have been using the flasher for that.Fixed the trim gauge but the water pressure gauge needs to be replaced and not sure yet if the voltage rectifier is bad or the tach and volt gauge need replacing too.Fairly minor stuff at least she runs strong.Doesn't handle nearly as sweet as your boat yet Snags, massive torque steer.Have a torque plate ordered hopefully that will straighten her out if not I'll havta start liftin weights...then again pushing that tandem trailer around the garage might just do the trick too ! mamohr686
The speedo uses a water pickup in the front of the lower unit. It will not work if it's plugged up. I wouldn't worry about it too much, mine is about 5-8mph high at top end. I have a dual cable steering and have major torque on the wheel at low speeds or when the boat is trimmed down. As I get lift on the bow I have no pressure on the steering wheel. Based on your picture I think you should have hydraulic steering and you would need to check your connections and fluid to find the problem. marine_man
Torque steer on high performance boats like what catnblast has is not uncommon.... especially if you're running a jack plate. I would definately check your hyd steering... but it sounds to me like you're headed down the right road to correct the problem.marine_man
CASTnBLAST
Don't have hyrdo steering but have read rave reviews on the torque pads on bass boat central so I installed one last night(only about $17) .Will report how it works.Didn't have hydro on my last boat with a 200 Yamah Pro V but din't have a jackplate either and could steer that with two fingers if I had to.If the torque tab decreases the pull even in half I'd be happy.Got to get her out in some big water, can't beleive that theres enough power difference between a Pro-V 200 and 200 VMAX to pull that much harder though even with a jackplate. Both are running close to the same 3 blade prop too and yes I've distributed the weight evenly.Unless it's all in the hull design, this new boat is over a foot longer also. One thing that is possible is that my last boat had anti-force feedback steering not sure how you would identify that. marine_man
I'm pretty sure it's got to do with running a jackplate... something along the lines of having less lower unit in the water via the jack plate to help hold the motor on a straight course... That's if you're running the jackplate up quite a ways... you are trimming the motor out too, right? If you still have high steering torque with the motor trimmed out I can hardly imagine what it's like trimmed down...marine_man
