poutpro
What is everyone favorite type of reel to put on a walleye rig. I have always been a shimano guy, but would be willing to look at another brand.
gunflint
I like the Shimano Stradic. It's like an old freind.
poutpro
It didn't take me long to do a little searching on reviews on the internet, and seems like Shimano reins atop the reel world.
bigbucks
I have several Shimano spinning reels as well, but I have some Daiwa's I really like too. As far as baitcasters I have a Quantum I bought about 10 years ago that I absolutely love.
Guest
I have 5 different shimano spinning reels and like them, good reels with no problems. This winter purchased A Okuma Epixor E-15,10 bb,and a Tica Libra 10bb,both being very, very smooth reels. Also on my ultra-lite put on a California reel-7bb with lifetime exchange and this reel is also a sweet little reel, probably will go on a ice fishing pole also this winter. jeffyo45
I purchased two Pfluegers last year. I believe one is a Solara and one a Trion. For the price ($30-$40) they are really nice reels. I would say pretty comparable to the $60-$70 Shimanos. I also like the Okuma and Ticas but don't own any yet. That will likely be changing this year. Northlander
I have a bunch of different reels. The Okuma line is what I consider the best for the Money. Midwest Rod and Reel is selling some of last years Okuma reels at a great price now. Flueger is also a nice reel for the $. JR's Tackle also has a great 8 ball bearing reel that I have used for 2 years now and it has held up very nicely and was very well priced.

guideman
I have been using Shimano's for years, my clients love them and they are very durable. The Sadona's are about $50.00 it's a great reel for the money. I have been using Okuma spinning reels on some of my bass gear the last couple years and I really like them as well. For me, my "rule of thumb" has always been to go buy the very best reel that you can afford...simple as that. "Ace"
walleyeking#8
Have several shimano's and really like them all. Also have a couple diawa spinning reals that perform pretty well. I have heard a lot lately about the pflueger trion's as well as the presidents, I think I will have to give them a try as well.
HuskerTornado
I picked up one of the new Quantum Energy PT spinning reals last year and it was great. I put it on a St Croix Avid 7' ML rod and they mesh perfectly together. $129.99 for the reel. I'm typically a Shimano guy, but Quantum is starting to pull me to them. Very high quality components (as good as Shimano in my opinion - on their high end) for a great value.
