    Chisago area bass

If it were me heading up there I would hit Chisago/Lindstrom Lake. You will find places to fish to all of the techniques you listed. It's a catch and release lake so the numbers and size are both very good.

    Procraft

I am not an expert on motors either but a compression test measures the compression in all of the cylinders which is very important. If one or more of the cylinders doesn't have compression you will have repairs that would need to get done before operation. It shouldn't cost much to have a place do it or there are resources on the internet that will walk you through how to do it yourself.
  3. Another round of props from me for Dave at Pro Fishing Supply. I dropped my boat off in the morning with him (he was very accomodating with that part) to install my Humminbird and I had the boat back that evening. And he beat the price I was quoted by a well known marine dealer to boot. Dave was about as nice of a guy you could hope to deal with as well. I will be going to Dave for other work in the future.
  4. Harvey, Do you have Jon from Marcum's email? I grew up with him in Forest Lake and lost his email when I switched computers at work. Please email to me if you can. [email protected] Thanks!

    Places to fish

Deitzy You mean I can come and get knowledge from you first hand on those Chisago/Forest Lake area lakes and go fishing with you. Sign me up. Seriously, I was going to pick your brain on some more lakes my club is fishing this year. Not to mention a ride in that new high performance fishing machine of yours. I would be more than willing to pay you to take me fishing on one in particular. Even if you don't do the guiding thing I would pay you to take me fishing there. I will sign a waiver or whatever. Email if you want so we can get talks started. [email protected] Sorry not trying to hijack the thread. All of the lakes Deitz mentioned are proven bass lakes. Some for size some for numbers.
  8. If I hadn't just bought a new auger and flasher I would have snatched it up right away. As it is I am still considering it. If it makes it through to this weekend it won't after that. That would be the only time I could swing up to Princeton.

  10. I'll take pics too. [email protected] Do you have any idea how old it is? How would you rate the condition? Thanks.

    Which Auger

Something to think about. I just took a printed ad off the Reed's site to Gander and got a Strikemaster Lazer Mag Express for $340 or $60 off regular price. You might be able to do the same at Cabelas.

    Vikes VS Eagles

Just got invited to the game. Free tickets are the best. Will be my first Vikes playoff game ever. Let's get the dome a rockin'. Skoal' Vikings. The game will sell out. They have until Thursday. No way the Wilf's let this game not be on TV.
  14. I'll let you know after tomorrow. Heading down to Marshall for the day.

    CRP

CrappiesNCats has the answer. Alot of people interchange CRP with any grassy type cover. Although Carpshooterdeluxe is also right that public land does not have CRP technically. CRP stands for Conservation Reserve Program which is done to set aside marginal crop land in native type grasses.

    looking for best muzzleloader opinions

I am definitely a muzzleloader novice. Just purchased a CVA Accura last week for $379. It has a special Bergera barrel that is guaranteed to be accurate. I have put three shots through it so far at 50 yards and other than adjusting the open sights the wrong direction on the third my shots were all no more than an inch and a half apart. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. I was using Triple 7 pellets and the bullets that came in the CVA kit. Cleaning on the gun doesn't seem overly difficult either. The breech plug is easy to remove and as mentioned earlier 1 screw to remove the barrel. I got the black with Stainless barrel. Just couldn't spend the extra coin the T/C's seemed to be.

Let me pose a scenario for you guys.

Yes I believe it is. He would have had to use his primary license in the lottery area to tag a doe. He used it in the different area on a buck. So now the only thing he can shoot would be an anterless deer in an Intensive or Managed area with a bonus tag.
  18. Anyone with a bass boat interested in fishing the FOM-Waconia Open and looking for a partner? It is Oct 4th and is a team format. Entry fee is $150 per team and you don't have to be FOM members. I have a pretty good knowledge of the lake and am an above average bass fisherman. You can either call or email me if interested. Thanks. [email protected] Cell # - 952-297-7445

    Attention MN Weekend Series anglers

I would be interested as a non-boater. I am in the same club as Jeff Nelson. Have you sent out the info to him? He and some of the other guys in our club would probably be interested. As for lakes, I like the suggestion of some different from the other circuits. Leech, Green (Spicer), Washington (Meeker Cty), Pelican (Brainerd), Koronis or Horeshoe Chain.

    09 BASS Weekend Series

A little confused by this as well considering they said part of the reason for doing this was to help alleviate travel for people. Last time I checked La Crosse and Prairie Du Chien are just as far or further than most of the lakes they have used. Bunch of [PoorWordUsage] if you ask me.

  22. Anyone have any advice or tips for a Mississippi River P4/P5 virgin? Not really able to prefish in my 12 foot jon boat so here's hoping I get a good boater draw. Feel free to email me if you have any help you'd be willing to offer. Thanks for the well wishes!!! [email protected]

    What's Working Now?- August

Jig worming deep weed lines. Frogs in the slop. Caught probably 20 in 2 hours on a west metro lake last Sunday and missed another 10 blow ups. Man I love frog fishing. Docks producing for others but have not hit too many myself. Caught a 4.11 pounder in 32 fow fishing a swim jig down 3 feet so you never know what might work. Good luck and tight lines.

Hook Set for Vets--Congrats Tonka Bass...

Congrats to all you guys! That's alot of boats on that lake to do so well. I've wanted to do that tourney the last couple years but I just can't seem to line up a partner. Just another reason I need a boat! Congrats again!
