Walsh is Gone!

Looks like the Vikings finally released Walsh today.  Not sure how but his termination papers got leaked today and it seems clear they made the right decision by releasing him.  Looks like he was wide left again.

I have no clue who Kai Forbath is but I like him already!

He's a guy with a career 84.1 FG %.

Blair was at 84.2%. Yeah, let's let that sink in...

BUT... Forbath was 34/35 on PATs last year for the Skins, so that's obviously a step up for us. He's honestly a decent kicker, but has his quirks, too... For example, he can hit some long FGs (50+), but can't get touchbacks regularly. Maybe he's a head case. So at worst, we just fired one head case and took on another one with a marginally worse FG % (and ended up with over 3 million in dead cap space in the process). At best, we get a guy with similar FG percentage, hopefully less yips, and someone who won't blow PATs. Really a "we'll see what happens" thing.

I actually wasn't totally on board with getting rid of Walsh for the exact reasons pikestabber mentioned.  There just aren't that many decent kickers out there.  It was probably a lateral move at best.  The only advantage is that we got to enjoy the feeling of kicking Walsh to the curb, he probably landed a little wide left though.
