Popular Post DonBo
Wisconsin Typical Archery Record “down” Again. At approximately 2:55 pm on Thursday November 5, 2015 a huge buck was cruising a steep hillside in a region commonly referred to as The Driftless Area in West Central Wisconsin. Seventy-five yards away archer John Kassera, with 50 years of experience, sat patiently waiting on this warm breezy afternoon. The La Crosse County 5x5, on a trail upwind of the hunter, was arrowed at 20 yards. The wounded buck crashed downhill passing under the hunters stand and out of sight. After a brief wait John took the trail, and found the buck on a logging road near the bottom of the hill. John’s “back 40” had produced some fine hunting memories in the past, but nothing quite like this! On Saturday January 23rd the buck was panel measured and a net score of 193 4/8” was established surpassing last year’s state record harvested in Dodge County. With a gross score of 201 5/8” the Kassera Buck has main beams of 30 6/8” & 30 5/8”. Over 42 inches of mass and 5 tines over 11” help push this buck to the top of the record book. PropsterII
What a stud. Great beam length, you just don't see that many that hit 30. And he was walking around in daylight on Oct 26. I need to quit muskie fishing and get in the tree earlier and earlier looks like.

Scoot
Wow! The trailcam pic vs. the hero shot pic is a really interesting comparison. The trailcam pic looks like a really big buck to me, but the hero shot shows just how huge that thing is! Great beam length, great tine length, mass, width-- he's got it all! The tine length is really impressive to me! I'm pretty sure I'd defecate my pants if I saw that deer in the woods!
O.T.C.
Very nice 20 yard poke to boot, where did that arrow strike that beast ? What a great deer and you know he's large racked when the rack dwarfs the body size. Hope he bred 1 doe before going down now my curiosty turns to that bucks age. SmellEsox
If he's 4.5 to 6.5 years old, I'm sure his genes are spread throughout the local herd. He's had 3-5 years to spread them around. What a dandy!
Xplorer
Awesome buck! I grew up just outside of LaCrosse, and used to see some brutes while I was trout fishing the creeks in the area, including one not far from where this was arrowed. Spent alot of time scouting Vernon, Monroe and LaCrosse county creeks. I used to do alot of night fishing for big browns and surprised more than one big buck while sneaking into a deep hole to cast Rap's DonBo
