Todd Caswell
Nice hunt Chub, Golden eyes are no different than any other Diver, if prepared properly before cooking they will taste no different than any other duck. I did a taste test a few years ago with a group of people, (puddlers) had teal, wood duck, mallard, pintail, ( Divers) blue bill, redhead and goldeneyes. All Brined and grilled to to same doneness and all very few could tell the difference.. But if all else fails and you don't know how to cook make them into sausage or pepper sticks.. As long as they are being eaten I have no problem with how they are being used. As a side note Coot breast's make some of the best grilled meat there is.... Must know someone with an empty ditch You must throw your gadddy's in the same ditch?? brittman and monstermoose78
Bryce
Bad enough sharing a blind with Chub. That truck stop cologne don't always cut it. Not sharing a ditch with him
brittman
That would be smileys - not gads for Mr. Bryce Shakko. The soak and grill method makes anything edible and the most edible becomes phenomenal. BoxMN
We had a decent Turkey Day morning hunt. Four guy limit of geese, and 15 mallards (no lost birds that we know of) and home by 10. I love hunting in the snow This was our best MN morning in quite some time, and it was not far from home Buddy cooked up a plucked goose on Saturday in wood fired old school stove and it was delicious! This pretty much ends our 2015 season. Oh yeah, between that hunt and yesterday there were three decent muskies landed in our boat, even though I did not go, heh. Bunch more attacked suckers so good action. Good way to end both seasons for us.Bring on the cold and ice fishuhalik, bobberineyes, Lunker and 1 other

Popular Post Lunker
Clocks ticking here on the Mississippi. I believe yesterday was the last for the MN side, and the WI closes after the 8th. Got out once last week and got 3 gads setting up in the grass. Got out yesterday afternoon, hunted bigger more open water hoping for a good diver shoot. It was warm, sunny and calm and there were actually bugs out... Birds didn't move too well, but had some good Canvasback action. Got my two Cans and continued to watch Cans bomb my decoys the rest of the afternoon. So of course I got trigger shy and missed some opportunities at a few bluebills and some mallards. I usually don't bring both my dogs but my younger one needed some apprenticeship time... monstermoose78, Gissert, Neighbor_guy and 4 others
Bryce
Must be tough going in Rochester. Nobody was even going out today so I could spend some monies. I'm sure the one clown show had a "hot" field but I learned long ago to avoid that trap.
Gissert
Towards the top of this thread, I posted where I lost my 8 year old lab suddenly to lymphoma (Early October). That was a kick in the gut for sure. Last week I had to put my 12.5 year old lab down due to a nasty carcinoma on her back foot. So out of sadness, comes some joy. A couple weeks ago we were steered to a private party that had some nice pups. We chose one, and she came home Friday.
