Wild 2014/2015 Regular Season

I'm as big of a keyboard GM as anyone and getting rid of Brodzaik sounds good but lets face the facts, no one wants him! They tried shopping him before the draft last summer and they've probably been shopping him all season. Thank god he's an UFA after this year.

Agreed on Brodz. Though I think this year he has actually played better than last. I haven't looked at his numbers in comparison, but overall I find myself not yelling at him on the TV screen nearly as often as I recall last year so that must account for something.

I am not suggesting we bring him back, but after seeing his play this season I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to it either for the right price (less than current salary).

I was hoping the Wild would have made a push for Bozak in Toronto. Now that they got Burgenheim I hope they go after a DMan preferably one that shoots left. Not sure who is out there, but that would be my preference.

Regarding what to give up, I really hate giving away picks. I am glad that Fletch as said he is not giving up 1st or 2nd Rd picks this year. That is good. I am in agreement that we might have to give something up to get something in return.

I think Haula might be of some value. Certainly not playing up to a level many of us had hoped. I really like his speed and he does have decent size and penalty kill is a big asset, but offensively he has been non-existent. That's a major disappointment.

It's a contract year so of course he has played better. The last decent year he had was also a contract year lol. Sure bring him back on a 2 way contract for like a mil a year and keep him as a call up. If someone offers him more then let him go.

Possible lines tonight.

Parise-Granlund-Pomminville

Bergenheim-Koivu-Vanek

Nino-Coyle-Schroeder

Haula-Brodziak-Fontaine

That is a strong lineup and best we have put on the ice all year upfront IMO and with Dubs in the net we should be able to compete with anyone...need D to have a strong game tonight.

I agree it is a strong lineup. Though I did like how Coyle, Vanek and Shroeder were playing together. Bergenheim is an energy type guy right? So that will be interesting to see how those three work together. Could be a nice line. Koivu has been playing a bit better lately.

Gonna need to play top notch with the preds goaltending. The thing that sucks about dangling Haula is the kid has some pretty good potential. Seems like guys that get traded to other markets thrive in different systems and you end up wishing they were still on our squad.

Yep really enjoyed that game. Really exciting 2nd. The middle 10 minutes of the 3rd was a bit painful to watch as both teams seemed tired and not to interested. Hopefully they can continue that momentum on the rest of the road trip. That goal by Brodziak off the faceoff was sweet!

Finally got an open netter too!

I only got the highlights, but man our third goal was awesome. Great play by the first forward into the zone to get it up to Coyle and what a pass to Nino who makes a slick little move before putting it up top. Just all around beautiful hockey.

I bet we could get a 3rd for Brodziak (WPG gave a 3rd+ for Tlusty!), but would we want to? He's an awesome PK'er as well as Haula. As long as we're in PO push mode, we won't be losing anyone. Now, if Bergenheim were a C...maybe that would make Brodziak or Haula expendable.

Nino has all the tools to be an absolute beast in this league. I really hope he puts it all together and is with us for a long, long time.

All the goals were beautiful last night. Our 4th line looked Fantastic, they really had the Preds locked down. I kept asking everyone that I was watching the game with if they had seen Parise at all. Not sure if he was sick or what, but really felt like I was watching the other lines buz last night.

Its two games in a row that Parise has been a bit off IMO. He was still battling, but he was carrying this team for many games its nice that when he has an "off" night by his standards that other guys contribute.

All around great game. The weathered the storm early and ended up with the lead. The game sure tilted in the Wild's favor. I hate those goals at the beginning or the end of a period though. That 200' goal by Nino was pretty as well! :-)

Hey we are all keyboard GMs didn't you get the memo?

LOL

It was funny, a couple weeks ago a buddy and I were going back and forth how we should trade Fontaine. That night he scored 2 goals. LOL

We seem to have something here. Musky harps on a guy and he has a standout night. Way to go on Brodz last night. Loved the quick draw by Haula and the instant shot by Brodz before Rinne was even ready. That had to be a hard one for Rinne to forget.
