chaffmj
Man they all look good. I bake mine in the oven for an hour and a half and then put them on the grill to sauce them up. Just to mix it up once in awhile I do chicken drum sticks on the grill with Frank's Red Hot, BBQ and Teriyaki sauce. You can get them on sale for under a buck pound and a lot more meat on them than wings.
CaptainMusky
Gross! Made a batch of wings in the oven today and they we soggy and not crispy. I will clog my arteries frying them before I do that again. On a side note the bleu cheese dressing I made from scratch rocked!

SkunkedAgain
For anyone that likes Art Song's Wings, they are served at the Hickory Hut on University in St. Paul. I have found that the Famous Dave's Chikn' Wing Seasoning is very close to Song's. It can be purchased at Menards. It is NOT spicy hot as the bottle states. So it's Minnesota spicy hot? CaptainMusky
OK I will grill them next. Loved the blue cheese I made. That was a hit at least. ;-)
eyeguy 54
blue cheese scares me... lol
LindellProStaf
Ok you've done it again. After reading this post I have to have chicken tonight while I watch the Detroit and Giants game. It will be drumsticks with the dry seasoning which I am putting in the frig now and will sear them and then do indirect on the grill. How long do you usually grill them? Great Vikes game yesterday by the way!!!! Maybe a little off topic.
Grainbelt
I sear, then after about 40 min of indirect heat I start checking them. Top and bottom vents wide open.
bak2MN
May be a dumb ? but what do you mean or how do you sear them?
Grainbelt
When you build your fire put all coals to one side of the grill. Sear them by putting them directly over the hot coals a couple minutes per side or more, then slide them over to the side without coals. LindellProStaf
They turned out great. Thanks.
Mid-Lake Rock
So it's Minnesota spicy hot? Haha. I poured some in a spoon and took a quick taste. It is about a 1 on my scale of spicy hot seasonings. My eyes did not water and nose did not run.
SkunkedAgain
On a scale of 1-10, I get hiccups when the heat gets in the 3-5 range, sweat when the spicy level is in the 6-8 range, and start to get turned off when it gets into the 8-10 range.Maybe I'll get the Chick'n Wing and add some cayenne
Mid-Lake Rock
Here's a favorite around here. 12oz Louisiana hotsauce 2 cups brown sugar 1 stick of butter Reduce in sauce pan till it sticks to the back of the spoon. Cook wings till well done (crispy skin). Sear wings then cook indirectly on Weber kettle with a chunk of apple. Pour sauce on wings in bowl and toss. Or brush sauce onto wings when they are close to being done, cook for five minutes with cover on, flip wings, sauce and another five minutes with the cover on. Take off the grill and brush with sauce once again. I made these last night for Thursday Night Football. Absolutely fantastic wings. Going to make them on an upcoming fishing trip. Thanks grainbelt! CaptainMusky
Grilled 4 pounds of wings today. Funomenal! My sauce didn't turn out as good as planned due to poor planning with ingredients. The homemade bleucheese was awesome though.
the squirrel
Did another 5 lbs of wings on the grill yesterday along with bacon wrapped peno poppers! pushbutton
Finally got around to the wings. Am batcheloring it this weekend and made a nice late night snack .....and going to eat it on the couch. Used a homemade wing sauce from peppers from the garden. Fresh taters....as well as fresh picked celery. Nothing good or fresh about the Boston cream pie
eyeguy 54
eat it on the couch.... make sure you vacuum before she gets home!
hockeybc69
Pickled celery? Tell me more.
pushbutton
No L in fresh picked it needs a long growing season, but is quite hardy. Takes up too much space for me, but Mrs. P likes it; so every other year or so will grow it.
