hawgchaser
Your kidding right??We got dominated plain and simple. Maybe if this worthless team could have coached and played for an entire 60 mins it would have been close, but that is just too much to ask from a MN team. Citrus Bowl Stats Too bad about the game you watched on the B.S. channel. The Citrus Bowl stats indicate a pretty good, competitive game. Next time try the ESPN channel instead of your B.S. channel. Nick Kuhn
Gophers played well to start but then made some costly turnovers. Also looked like the Florida heat got to them at the end of the game. But saying they weren't competitive is silly.
rundrave
At the very least it is nice for once to see the Gophers take advantage of an almost historically terrible Big 10.
Nick Kuhn
The ranked teams in the SEC West: 0-5 in bowl games. But Arkansas won. The 2 Big 12 teams on loan won too. And Georgia and South Carolina did win in favorable match-ups.
JBMasterAngler
On a positive note, Leidner actually resembled a good QB today! I was impressed with his passing today. However, I was upset how they handled the end of the first half. I didn't expect them to run a 2 minute offense, but with timeouts and field position, they could have at least tried 1 or 2 plays to see if it would be worth at least trying to get a field goal! We lost that game on special teams more than anything else. Williams' TD should make the top plays list on sportscenter tonight
hawgchaser
I will give you the only stat that matters.33-17 If that's the only stat that matters, the obvious question is:"Why so many words to say so little?"

Guys trying to make plays, the muffed punt absolutely killed us at that point. The defense was getting gassed and putting them right back on a short field was disaster.Leidner had 12 consecutive completions at one point, Heck, that is more than he had attempts in a couple games I am sure. I think there were signs that perhaps he could become a serviceable QB with a potential passing threat. They have been talking very highly of these young WRs that they didnt strip the redshirt off of, so hopefully there will be some options. There is some real good talent on this team but some of them will be gone. Wilson obviously being a senior will leave a big hole. If Williams turns to the draft that will be another one on the offensive side that will hurt, though he was injured much of this year. The game started well, but turnovers killed them and the trickery. Fake punt, onside kick to start the second half, that really set the tone for the second half. FISHINGURU
and of course my favorite the good ole MN kneel down with 50 seconds left and 3 timeouts on the 40 yard line. [PoorWordUsage]??? Have some balls and try to win a meaningful game once. Yesterday was the 1st day in my life I decided to watch a Gophers game because of all the hype, I'm not a college football fan. I can't stand when teams run the take the ol' knee play, it makes me want to puke. Especially when they only needed 20-30 yards to put up some points with 3 timeouts left. The Gophers QB hated it he was also thinking [PoorWordUsage]?? Pretty much from that point on I wanted the other team to win. They were clowning the Gophers all game with fakes it was pretty pathetic. It was a close game though until they broke it open with that big run in the 4th, that was the nail in the coffin.

If you had watched any Gopher football this year you would know that the Gophers have the worst QB in the big 10 and are a running team only. The chances were much greater that he throws a pick 6 in that situation than him getting them down the field far enough for a score. It's preposterous to think it could have even happened. Big Dave2
Its just too bad that Alabama had to lose to one of those pathetic Big10 teams and their 3rd string QB.... The Big10 was underdogs in all 10 of its bowl games and is now 5-4 with Iowa yet to play. How did the SEC do.....all they have left to say is that Mizzou beat the Gophers lol

From what I seen the Gophers QB was making some decent throws and the other team defense was junk. That's a pretty bad message to send to your team that you don't trust them enough to try and put points on the board with 3 timeouts and 50 seconds left. If anything call a time out and run the ball or set up a screen, see what you get call another time out and do it again. Don't just sit there like a bunch of maroons and let dang near a minute run off the clock going into the half.

swampman
I get where Kill was coming from at the end of the half given Mitch's shaky performance most of the year but he did throw better than he has all year (except for maybe the Iowa game) which was a surprise. I didnt expect the gophers to pass block that front 4 as well as they did unfortunately they could never get a consistent run game going. To many mistakes in a winnable game by the players and coaches. They made some improvements this year, hope Jeff Jones and the redshirt receivers are as good as everyone says.I think they can contend in the west division for the next few years but the talent gap between us and OSU, Mich State and probably Michigan in the coming years looks daunting to me. FISHINGURU
Nothing if you can kick field goals from mid field. You must not know about the Gophers being around the 40 yard line with 50 seconds left and 3 timeouts. Add 20-30 yards to that and tell me where they would be? Not like they were sitting at the 25 yd line letting the clock run out.
hawgchaser
I am still trying to figure out why the plane would have flown over Lincoln if we were coming back from Orlando?? The FBS ranking committee said it was the shortest route...therefore, it is the shortest route!
