I bare witness to that brother.I can't stop thinking about that open water fishing on the Mississippi. There's still some good fishing yet this winter.I couldn't wait for ice and now I can't wait for soft water. The mind is an interesting place. crazy

I sure hope the lakes are open before May this year. I love ice fishing, but this brutal cold is getting old. Last year, though I thoroughly enjoyed the last weekend (14th) of walleye season on LOW in April and catching some hogs, I certainly hope the lakes in the Southern half of the state have a good start in opening up.

Ice fished a couple of times and I'm done. Ready to start planning open water fishing.

The way the ice is this year, ice may go out on the northern lakes before the southern lakes. crazy

Going to KY in early March and meet up with my brother for Striper fishing on Lake Cumberland and then to Lake Barkley for the crappie run. I've reserved a couple campsites for late May fishing on Red, planned a June trip to Canada, decided on a walleye opener weekend trip and made plans for a couple spring sturgeon, trips and a Rainy River walleye trip. Yes I'm ready, but still taking in the ice season as much as possible.

I miss Drinking a cup of coffee out on the dock in the am soaking up the morning sun while listening to birds and casting for fish with by daughter.

Swimming by trout lake portage and cruising around in my boat with the family

Camp fire at dusk and hearing a faint call of a loon.

sitting at the end of the dock with my wife under the patio umbrella on a hot July afternoon with a cold beer looking out over the water with a slight breeze a blowing.

Fishing! Fishing! Fishing! This is killing me. I could go on and on about what I love about the lake (open water)

Icewolf.

I can see open water from my office every day, but its Lake Superior grin

I did stop by Marine General the other day and pick up a new dipsey and a new leadcore rod tho!

Huh. I just read that Lake Superior was totally ice covered...
