MudPuppy77
I also use them for spikes and minnows. A funny thing happened last year. I left a puck with spikes in my coat pocket and didn't go fishing again for a few weeks. I opened it up and three of them had turned into flies. They must have hatched recently because they couldn't even fly, or maybe they were just really confused from seeing daylight for the first time. Mr.Seaguar
Yeah, but then you just keep catching the same fish over and over again Anyone ever see that King Of The Hill episode? Jumping Crack Bass. Very funny episode. One of the best tv shows ever. Grizzly cans lasted the longest from what I remember
Jared_P
How long will those things typically last in a fridge? JP
thatsawalleye
I would also like to know how long they last in the fridge.
harvey lee
I have 3 of the Clam bait pucks and they are nice but I never find myself using them. I typically use the bait container the waxies or spikes come in. As far as minnows, I have and do use the pucks for a few minnows.I but my spikes by a 1,000 pack and just save a few of the waxie containers I get when you buy a small pack.Guess I just dont need a bigger puck like the Clam one. Sure some like them though.
Brad B
Where do you guys buy 500 count? It seems the 25's last a week or two at best, is there anything special to make them last longer? Do they come in euro colors? I don't have the bait puck, but a bait puck of some kind is a great tool. H&H in Maple Lake sell 250 count tubs. I normally buy one to start the season with and then another one mid season. you do loose some but it is minimal. they last for a long time. you do need to go through them every so often and pull out the dead ones. I just leave both the 250 count tub and the puck sit on the kitchen counter when I am not out fishing with the puck.
amateurfishing
just looked at my strikemaster pucks today, they each have a pin size hole in the top & the top isn't even insulated, just cheaper thinner plastic, not too happy bout those findings
Eric_Kruger
i put a dab of hot glue over the hole and fill them with gulp alive stuff. Going on 4 years now and havent had a leak! also use them for minnows. Another tip, if I dont have monnows on hand I buy them the night before, take half of them out of the water and cut them in half with a scissors, then toss them in a bait puck in the fridge. Ready to go hole hopping for eyes the next morning!
live4chrome
Funny, none of mine have a pin hole. Use them for minnows all the time
DLD24
I don't even put water in the puck, the minnows still stay alive a while...Like today I got home from fishing and I remembered I had a minnow in my puck still, so I went in the bathroom to toss it and it was still very lively swimming around the toilet as it went down haha...I have the strikemaster pucks and I've never had a problem with them freezing on me....TIP: When your done using your puck for the day make sure it doesn't have any minnows in it...Anyone ever forget you had a couple in there and you open it a couple days later...nasty

Finally figured out why my bibs stunk so bad when I hit the river early. I never could get the smell out of that bait puck.
Naturboy
So you liderly put minnows with water in the puck? How many minnows can you put inside comfortably? I guess you could ask the minnows how comfortable they are? (:
JeremyCampbell
LOL. Comfort meaning how many can you jam in there with out killing the minnows.
TruthWalleyes
I always use a small ear plug container and put live minnows in it with no water. Think I lost that so I'm have to get a puck
RoldGold
Rookie question: What are spikes? Also, I've always stored my waxies in the bait puck in the fridge, is it better to just leave them out (it's the beer fridge so it's pretty cold!)?
