Good thing the Ten Commandments were on tonight. This team absolutely blows. Everyone's hero Sutter is such a DB he cant even control his temper to give his team a chance towards the end of the game. Wondering where him and Parisite have been this series??

Yeo should be fired right now!!!!

Our new coach. Better than what we have.

Lost game 1 on a couple of boneheaded plays.

Game 2 was Varlamov being much better than Bryz. The Avs have one line but Bryz isn't making the big save at all. MacKinnon is AWESOME but the first goal was soft, second one he's way too far back in the net but their third one he didn't have a chance. Kuemper was way more aggressive and looked far better.

Back is against the wall now.

It's gotta be deflating to control the play like they did the first half of the 1st and get up 1-0 only to lose the lead on a goal like that. It was a great play by Mckinnon, but Bryz has gotta have those, that should be an easy save. Spurgeon wasn't much help falling on his rear either though.

Well I think our worst fears are being realized. Their young forwards are better than our vets!!! Varlamov is good and outside of Harding I don't think we can expect a goalie to steal a game for us. MacKinnon is 18 for crying out loud, this is playoffs and he looks like the next Crosby out there. Have to win the next two at home or this series is over. I think Yoe is doing everything he can right now to win but things are just not going our way, man that first game was so huge and still stings. Come home 1-1 and we have a series, now we have zero room for error.

I think even scarier is how good the Avs will be in the future. Add 1-2 good D-men and this Avs team will probably be the leading contender for the CUP!!

I do think the Wild need to get a little bigger as you can see how physical the Avs are being with the Wild but I'll save that input for an off-season thread.

I will say Keumper was very aggressive and challenging the shots much better than Bryz. Bryz wasn't challenging on either of their first 2 goals. Hard to count on him but I think Yeo has to plug him in for now. He had some nice saves after he came in.

I do have to laugh at Yeo being out-coached. He doesn't get last line change and Roy out coaches him by pulling the goalie early? How is Yeo supposed to counter???

I do wonder if he'll try and put a checking line on McKinnon now with last change.

Bryz was let hanging a bit by d as those kids are fast an take advantage of everything...KABLAM yer done.

Supdgen an Suter got unzipped a couple times bad.

Out coaching come easy to see sometimes when something Roy an crew see happening time an time again an they send in a line with a play in mind an it works. BIG TIME.

Wild staff could do that also...time will tell.

They aint quiting so I liked the game win or lose it is all they or we have.

crazy

To much puck watching and coasting around again an not knowing when to stay an when to make a play n move.

Coach Yeo mixing lines mid game is weak...no no in NHL playoffs as ya fix the plan not to man.

By the time Big K was in Yeo knows he needs a taste an is really good at slowing down the flow of the game any game with his steering pucks into netting an freezing freezing frezzzing of anything around him.

Avs in coast control by then but he did do just fine.

Slowed the game down like Lapanta an Greenlay mumbling.

Avs can be beat at Excel for sure.

Parise is really disappointing.

Seems to be playing hard but not really on his A+++ playoff game..not even close.

No doubt Yeo try to go all out 1st 10 minutes an then slow slow slow down forwards an try not yielding blue lines.

Should be fun tilt.

We in section 113 row 8 any time daddyo.

I hear couple Wild D man bought new jocks an had squirt guns installed in the logo and skate laces with blinky lights on them to try to distract the young speed demons.

DOH!

Long haul but its all Wild have so GO WILD!

Keep on rocken!

I say don't do anything except protect ourselves a little bit. we can beat this team, we just need solid goaltending and a few bounces to go our way. We've out played the Avs in 4 out of the 6 periods.

I agree with this... BUT what are the wild on the season against this team now? 1-5, 1-6? Sure doesn't look like we can beat em.

Biggest disappointment for me this year is Brodin... by far. Doesn't even look close to the same player he was last year. In fact i think he has actually gone backwards.

Sophmore slump, its fairly common in the NHL. That first year you have adrenalin running non-stop, he is still pretty darn good this year but has to find that next level. The good news is he is only 20 and NHL D men usually take a little longer to mature. He will get there.

Brodin needs to do what Granlund did last off season and put on some weight. Teams saw how good he was and put him on the radar. Now guys play him more physically and it throws him off his game. Just look at game 1. Also, keep in mind the kid is something like 20. He's got a bright future ahead of him.

I think it was the injury that really sent Brodin backwards. At the beginning of the season (before the injury) he was playing great. At one point I think he was at or very near the top in goals for the team and as a D man no less.

He is a little gun shy now. Hopefully that will disappear soon, but I agree a few extra pounds on him wouldnt hurt. He does get shoved around a lot out there.

Ya he was a different player at the beginning of the year, he is still showing flashes of amazing play and still very solid in the D-zone. Kid will be a rock for us for years to come. I really like how Scandella has turned out too, a very good depth player with a nice shot.

hahaha, Yeo is sitting Brodz....FINALLY! Brodz must have not done a good job cleaning Yeo's toilets yesterday.

It will be nice to get Heater's speed out there to counter-act MacKinnon crazy Must win tonight or time to shine up those irons.

oh god I hope he's not playing Heatley. I'm guessing that Heater's career is over.

Fontaine is a good choice. Anyone know who the centers will be? If it's McCormick centering the 4th, I just hope his line doesn't take any icings, or that will be ugly.

PA speculated Cooke-Haula-Fonzie for third line duty. Russo is speculating Nino instead of Fonzie. Either combo would be an improvement. Happy to see how the team might look minus Brodz, and happy to see Fontaine make the lineup. Heater on the 4th line is worthless, but that's where he'll be if he plays. And then finally going with Darcy tonight.

I suppose its enough changes to maybe affect the outcome. Goalies will have to stand on their head if we are to get back in this series. MacKinnon is flying around wreaking havoc.

Still pumped to watch tonight's game. And I actually get to stay at home tonight, bonus!

I'd still prefer Brodz over Heater at this point but we'll see how it goes. Keumper needs to stay aggressive and not sit back in the net like Bryz was doing.

I agree on Brodin. He looked very tentative after getting pounded in game 1. I think Granlund has handled it much better. I'd like to see the Wild take a page from the Avs and get some good hits on McKinnon. He's not small but is listed at 182 lbs so the Wild should see how he likes to get hit. I'll be real interested to see who plays against Colorado's top line.

IMO, the Wild got out goal-tended in Game 2 and blew Game 1. I'll also be interested in the officiating at the X. Game 1 Johnson pounds on the back of Parise's head and drives him into the ice, no call. Game 2 Brodz jabs one of the Ave's in the face and he sits.

The no call shouldn't have cost the Wild Game 1 but I hate it when you hear "the official's are letting them play". If one team does it more than the other then you are giving one team the advantage.

On officiating, did anyone see the disallowed Lightning goal last night? What a horrible call!!! Lightning player is pushed into the goalie. 2 other TB players touch the puck and score, penalty for goalie interference is called after the goal. TB lost 3-2.

Fully agree, all this leads to is two teams trying to out-goon each other since they both believe that the refs aren't going to call anything.

Officiating seems to get worse every year.

    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
