Down Time!?

Well, most years at this time we were able to get out on the rivers bass fishing or local lakes, running the boat or looking for panfish.

As that's not really an option so far this year, what are you guys doig with your extra off-season time? Other than seeing a physciatrist for "lack of fishing depression"...

I'm about one more measurable snowfall away from being huddled under my desk chewing on an extension cord... Tackle is all organized, hooks replaced...about the only thing I haven't done yet is put line on reels. I've replaced most of the lures that needed replacing but the bait monkey is going to start gnawing on me hard here pretty soon if the weather doesn't turn around.

I was supposed to be in South Dakota right now fishing smallies. Still 2 feet of ice on the lakes I'm supposed to be on. Haven't even pulled the cover off the boat yet.

It's a sad deal I tell ya.

I to have done all the organizing and tackle buying I need to do, just neen to spool line also. I do like to wax the boat prior to taking it out for the first time, so at least I have that to do this weekend. I've been prefishing in the basement for about a month now, and I haven't caught squat!!! Would like to get the boat out and run it before WI opener, but may not even need it for WI opener at this point!!!!

Oddly enough, I've found my most effective therapy has been one of two things, either 1) drinking beer, or 2) going to the gym and pretending I'm setting the hook on dumbbells. I'm also putting in big hours at work (though I'd be more productive if I stopped procrastinating on this site), so even if I wanted to go fishing, I'd have a hard time doing it this year. That helps...a little.

First, just trying to focus on school a little bit more. I'm taking my art credit and wound up in sculpture. I'm working on a full size clay bass right now, I started it on yesterday and I have til' May 10th to finish, so If it turns out good I will definitely put pics on here because I know a lot of you appreciate outdoor art. I also do a little bit of bowling too, and had my best night in a while the other night in - 233 246 260.

I also play WAYYYYYY too much GTA 4, and I'm definitely buying GTA 5. Other then those couple things and everyday stuff, my fishing shopping addiction has hit an all time high, I am almost all set on bass tackle for the year, I added a bunch 4 3/4 tungsten bullets and 4 3/16, some of those bullshots, a bunch of 1/2 bullets, lifetime supply of swimjigs, 5 bomber squarebill cranks, spinnerbaits, buncha jig trailers, buncha senkos, and replaced a bunch more lures I lost last year. Then its organize all my bass stuff like i've got a bad case of OCD, then its get the boat out, clean the fock out of it, and finally hit the lakes on may 4th(if theres no ice). And then all of my family, girlfriend, and friends can have normal Rawhog back.

I'M FREAKING OUT I NEED TO FISH

I decided to buy my first bass boat this year. I found one from from a personal seller about beggining of march. We have agreed on a price and sale but the guy is going through some personal legal issues that doesnt allow me to buy the boat yet. I didnt think it was going to take this long but the weather is the only thing keeping me sane. If it was nice out I would be pulling my hair out right now if yhe weather was nice and no boat. But this weather still blows

I too have been spending all of my money on new gear and fixing old gear. Couple hondo to cabelas, fifty to bass pro, another fifty on rapala... Just got a call from the motor shop and my tune up is 169!! They said around a hundred when I dropped it off, hopefully she purrs real nice! Structure scan should be at my door when I go for lunch and my HDS8 will be in the boat in a week grin I also re-wired my boat and put carpet on the benches and floor. New led light strips wired to the battery and My boat is now pimped. Too bad there is 30 inches of ice in Ely...

I keep buying stuff to keep me sane. $40-50 here and there once a week piles up over the off season. Lots of new crankbaits and the basement smells like Berkley powerbait. The Mrs isn't too happy about that smell....

I also have been upgrading my reels, I've added some new Lews to the line up, and sold off some of the older ones......not like they were really that old.

Ended the year last year fishning in the gore-tex parka and bibs, I sure hope I don't have to start 2013 like that. This white stuff coming down is driving me crazy.....
