Well it looks like I don't break nearly as much stuff as some other people! Ha. I must have had a good year because the only thing I busted (so far - I might have jinxed myself) was a rod tip on one my poles when picking it up. I re-applied it however and it still works fine!

Remind me to never let any of you guys borrow my stuff! grin I haven't broken anything. The sled on my Fish Trap Guide is wore paper thin and has holes in spots but still going. I believe I broke my line once this winter.... That's about all I can think of!

I fish often, fish hard, and must just be lucky. I think my Thorne Panfish Sweetheart is over 10 years old...

Collapsible plastic shovel (should have known better)

Rod tip/spring bobber

Bungee that holds the cover on my strike master blades

Subsequent cut in my clam shelter

My son's heart: having touched his drag as a big fish took him down to the spool on the Croix

I've broken the tip off of a couple St. Croix Legends and have come up with a pretty solid fix. I use a ridiculously small drill bit and remove the graphite blank from the tip sleeve. Once removed, square off the rod end with a side cutter, dab on some superglue and slide the tip back on. without having a stock rod in hand, you'd never know the difference.

I hooked up my power inverter backwards and found out it didn't have a replaceable fuse. Took it apart and soldered the circuit board back together and put a proper fuse on the wire. Also lost my favorite sunfish rod couldn't find it with the camera, so something must be pulling it around waska.

Broke half the tip off one of the st criox rods with the built in spring bobber AGAIN. A little super glue and it was good as new.

I have now stopped putting the rod sleaves on my four st. criox rods as twice now the tips have broke while putting the sleves on.

I, too, feel fortunate compared to some of you guys. My only loss was on Star Lake. The wind blew one of the sides of my portable in knocking over the heater. It fell on my rod and melted the line, which happened to be in the hole. Lost a cicada. It also knocked over my milk crate that the Vex was on and the Vex was wedged in the hole. I quickly grabbed it and the battery flipped out and fell into the hole. Boy, those things sink fast.

Stator went out on the zr500 on Winnie pulling the clam, Hooked the clam to the fiance's mxz, crossing a road heading back to the resort, clam ran over the tow rope and (somehow) cut the rope in half, sending the clam down the ditch an into the trees. After fixing the rope and getting the clam back to the resort, went back for the zr, and bent the rear bumper on the mxz dragging the zr back. Buddy busted his strikemaster handles and mr heater on the same outing too.

I broke both winch cables on the wheel system in the same afternoon. I will never happen again as I made 2 extra cables for when I see one seperating. I had a floor jack in the box of the pickup. took about 15 min to get it up in the air and then down the road.

Check out the warranty page on st. croixs HSOforum. I have broken rods in the past and sent them back with a check for $10 and had new rods in less than a week. You can send multiple rods this way. You just need to send the rods, a check, and a note.
