You've got to hand it to Danica for posting the second-fastest ever qualifying lap at Daytona - under plate racing. I watched some of the qualifying including her run. She ran that machine fast. While I'm sure she will endure the usual rookie problems adjusting to Cup racing, she seems to have the fight and the skill do compete. We'll see how it all shakes out. I just wish that she'd concentrate more on racing than commercials.

I agree she is great for the sport. However, she really did nothing in the Nationwide series to make me think she is going to have any kind of success at the cup level.

I agree HOF. I doubt any male would have moved up with her record.

I will give her this, she wheeled the h&ll out of that car for qualifing.

She does alot of commercials as I am sure she brings in alot of revenue for her car owners. Will she ever win, I guess we will have to wait and see.

Well if she is anything like the girls I have dated. Figure she will do ok for a couple weeks, be REALLY good one week wink and just tear up the car along with many others on that "other" week grin I kid...I kid..... Sure she wouldn't be where she is at because of only her driving, but who cares. She is not the first or will be the last driver to get a ride not based only on ability. Eventually she will have to step it up though or the novelty....and endorsements .....will wear off.

Everybody I've shown or sent that to got a pretty good chuckle out of it. Some are even JG fans but they get that it's just a joke and that JG has never been the most manly of men in the NASCAR garage.

Am I the only one who thinks maybe, just maybe, we're all being duped by NASCAR? Why wouldn't they (NASCAR), be making this woman look good for ratings? Isn't everything about the money these days? Why wouldn't they just over look her car so it will run just a little faster then every other car so she gets the pole?

Why does she deserve to even be there? She's not that good. But with all the publicity she's bringing to the sport, that's a lot of money somebody's putting in their pocket. There is a lot of guys there that have tried for many years to sit on the pole, let alone win. A lot better drivers then she will ever be. Think about it. Doesn't it seem odd with NASCAR ratings dropping off, that she gets the pole.

I guess come Sunday, we'll all get the answer. We'll see if she can drive in traffic as well as she can drive on a track by herself. She surely wasn't very impressive in the duel. But of course if she gets taken out it will be somebody else s fault, as it always has been in the past.

These are just my thoughts. Maybe I'm wrong, but it sure does seem odd to me.

Don't get me wrong, I liked her at one point. But I think it all went to her head.

Well, she surprised me going the distance. Kudos for her. Post race interview was interesting though. She did not come out and say it, but was really close to whining and pouting that no one would have helped her at the end if she tried to make a move. Ironically it kind of was like a Gorden interview....he was also really close to doing the same smile

Well she did good enough to be top 10 driver for pretty much the whole race. Even if you don't want to, you have to give her credit for that.

Seemed like she was over accelerating out of her pit and taking too long to get her tires to hook up. As far as pulling out of line and having someone to work with? There just wasn't the opportunity to do it in her position; Jimmy made sure of that. Junior made a great move to make her and Biff settle for what they got.

All around I would say she has ALOT to be happy about even if she just thought it was "nice".

She's just a darn good race car driver and we can kid ourselves all we want to think otherwise.
