YiGGiN4SLoBS
Two went OVER the house? No way it was CP Yeah, maybe if like half the carton came up short of the house and blew up in the yard he'd be a suspect
JackPineGuy
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh another flopper for ponder. 3 games left tho, wildcard implications...........

JackPineGuy
CP will make a great back-up QB for years to come. i sure wont want him backin up the vikings. i hope they get rid of him all together. listen, i thought ponder had a shot at being great. But the writings on the wall, the is guy destined for CFL.... he is terrible.
96trigger
I never got a chance to watch any of the game until junk time in the 4th. His stats were not as bad, did he still look awful? I almost hoped he would stink it up so the vikes would start looking for a new qb. Anybody excited about ponder in 2013? I'm not, but if he wins 1 or 2 more games, he will more than likely be the starter next year.
vman11
What about the pass protection? Recieving core? The QB gets too much credit and all of the blame. Other than Percy, I'm not sure that the Vikings have a reciever that would make it as a #3 on most teams.Last QB who performed well for the Vikes? Culpepper. Remember who he was throwing too? There are elite QB's that will have consistent results with any reciever core (Brady, Peyton Manning, Brees) and the others heavily rely on their recievers to carry them. Unless the Vikings snag an elite QB or land an elite reciever(s) that position will continue to be mediocre at best.
2000kid
Wow I think if you throw Brady manning brees in at qb for the vikes you would win the nfc north leadership and holding the WR accountable for knowing the play book studying film and know you line assignments would be held at a higher level I think that they respect ponder as a team mate but not to the level of the elite! We will never know cause we a stuck with the worst 1st round pick vikes have seen in a long time to bad we passed on Andy dalton!
JosMN
My wife and I saw Ponder walking around holding hands with his fiance saturday afternoon at the MOA. I yelled at him "don't you have some film to watch"?? haha. Sorry, I had to. What's he doing wondering around the mall the afternoon before the game anyway? I though it was pretty funny that no one was noticing him or even following him. I will give him kudos on his woman though, she is smokin. I just dont see how this guy has the best runningback in the league, and not passing for over hardly 100 yards per game. Defenses stack everybody in the box to try and control AP dont they? 20-30 yard seem routes should be there ALL DAY LONG. It is time vikings fans to look elsewhere, get a veteran qb and park his but on the bench to try and learn a few things. Or to qoute somebody from kfan - he's going to be the next mike tomzack. brian6715
How good would Alex Smith look in purple???? He is not a huge stats guy, but he doesn't make careless mistakes, and with our running game that would equal a LOT more wins (think back to AP's 210 yard performance in a loss)I know we need a new and better QB, but there aren't going to be a lot of stellar guys available that you can just throw in and expect results. Smith may be one of the few.
Snag
It would help to have a receiver like Brandon Marshall, talk about a guy who makes plays. Double coverage, triple coverage and Cutler would still throw the pass. Looks like the coaches pretty much took Ponder out of the equation yesterday. I missed the 3rd quarter as I was outside trying to hit my satellite dish with snowballs. I kinda looked more like McNabb, hitting the side of the house a lot. MUSKY18
Well there surely isn't any superstar QB's available in free agency. Joe Flacco is about the biggest name on the list and the same pretty much goes for wide receivers. Wes Welker, Victor Cruz, Austin Collie are probably the top 3 that will get attention. Welker is a given to resign with the Patriots. So it looks like the Vikings are doomed unless they work out a trade with someone.

MUSKY18
Not as good as it is now, but he has really improved since he came into the league. Baltimore's offense has been putting up some decent points and they don't have near the running game AP does.
YiGGiN4SLoBS
and they don't have near the running game AP does. Ummm... Ray Rice is pretty good last time i checked.
MUSKY18
didn't mean to imply that Ray Rice wasn't good. Definately one of the top rushers in the AFC, just saying he isn't Adrian Peterson.
YiGGiN4SLoBS
I hear ya.. I know what you meant but had to give you a little @&#&$ for that comment. We all want someone besides ponder, i think thats pretty evident at this point. The only QB's i would take Ponder over in the entire league are probably Sanchez and whoever starts for the cardinals, and thats pretty sad company
vman11
Believe me, not a Ponder fan, but does everybody honestly believe he is the SOLE problem with the Vikings passing game?Does the pass protection, play calling or lack of a go-to stretch the field reciever take any blame? With everything the same, would Joe Flacco or Alex Smith win us 2-3 more games? What about Matt Flynn or Kevin Kolb? Other than hitting it big in the draft, this is the caliber of QB's that can be even considered being on the team in the future. Nearly impossible to pull in an above average FA QB

Other than hitting it big in the draft, this is the caliber of QB's that can be even considered being on the team in the future. Nearly impossible to pull in an above average FA QB I agree....receivers blow and I think the Offensive Coordinator is worst in the league. They make no changes ever during the game. Do I think other QB's would win us 2-3 more games? Without a doubt. Take any one of the 4 QB's mentioned above and the Vikings walk out of Lambeau with a win! Even without great WR's, a quality QB will still get them the ball. The receivers in New England are good, GBrady makes them GREAT. Same with Denver. They were bad last year. Same receivers, different QB and now they are one of the top teams in the AFC. Already clinched their division. If I was the Vikings GM, I'd be working with Seattle to get Matt Flynn or San Fran for Alex Smith. They are both riding the pines and would probably be easier to get. Kolb never panned out and Flacco is gonna stay right where he is. My choice would be Flynn.
96trigger
I forgot about Flynn, they might want to dump his contract, he might be worth taking a shot at.
