Whoaru99
Title says it all...If you had to choose just one box of 12ga shotgun shells to get by with, what would you pick?
gspman
Some sort of tungsten matrix type of shell. 2 3/4" 1 1/4 or 1 3/8 oz of #5 or #6 shot. I can hunt almost any gamebird or fowl with that load and use it anywhere as it is non toxic.

There is no gap, the point is your opinion about one pick that must cover any/all of your conceivable needs as best possible. Oh 00 buck then! Musky Buck
12 gauge 3" buffered magnum Number 4 buckshot. That was in the lead era so it's remington's 3" T shot. Geese, ducks, and those pheasants that seem to get up at the edge of shooting range. Home protection lol it'll do more than enough and works great on woodchucks, skunks, opossums, coons, etc.

paceman
I would go with 3" no. 2's. Should be able to kill any bird with it. If they are in range of course
