Excelsior Buck?

After all the hoopla last year about this buck, nothing this year. Anyone see it around this year? or hear anything about it. Would be to bad if it died of old age and that was the end of the story.

I've talked to someone that saw him regularly last year, and they had not seem him this fall. I do now that a few big deer were roadkilled in his vicinity this summer and fall, and would imagine he was one of them.

Just a hunch. Someone knows more than I do I'm sure.

Sometimes the older they get the less they like to be seen, hope he is still alive. I would love to see what he looked like this season.

The week of October 20th there was a big road kill along hwy 7 that someone had cut off the head. Was a giant bodied deer though..

Somebody knows something for sure. A big deer like that doesn't go unnoticed especially in an area like that. I'd hightly doubt that he just died of old age either, I think he looked pretty strong last year especially with putting out the inches of bone on his head.

Put it this way, if we don't hear something he was either taken illegally or was killed by something else unnatural and guys are really good at keeping secrets.

Yeah, its hard to say. He could have been killed in the months from March to june maybe even july and nobody would have known. If he survived past then I would imagine he will turn up eventually.

I know a homeowner in his area who saw him a handful of times this summer.

Good point Tonka,, Something could have happend in the spring/early summer months and noone would be the wiser..BUT it sounds like a resident laid eyes on him at least once.

I'd say we'll know when someone finds his sheds. I doubt anything will ever leak again with this deer on his feet.

Well just repost the " leaked " picture. I don't care if he is dead or alive since I have no intention of going after him. Just want to see what kind of rack would cause such a stir.

Chasing a doe late rut south of hwy 7 of Galpin Road here. My old boss lives there and saw him a lot last year and saw him up to mid summer this year, but not since.
